  2. Thanks Steve yes it is an inrunner that was intended for a ducted fan, I could not remember for sure who I had purchased it from, I did think it was All Electric RC. I sent them an e mail back in April but have not had a reply so I thought maybe I my memory was playing tricks. Perhaps I should give them another try.
  3. Quite a while back at a BEFA meeting I purchased a Vortex 28/56/3330 but I cannot remember the Max Voltage and Current figures. Can anyone help
  4. I agree with the views expressed by BEB its more expensive to built a trainer from scratch and it takes longer but its enjoyable and there is a great sense of achievement when a model that started from a few sheet of wood takes to the air.
  5. Better safe than sorry  I suggest you follow Martyn's advice and join BMFA .   Fred
  6. I got fed up waiting for Grant to respond to e mails or to make the promised refund I informed my credit card company of the situation and now have the outstanding amount credited to my account.

  8. Timbo Surely if the thread is set up to identify good or bad retailer, when someone is identifying what they think is a bad retailer some details of the dealings are needed in order for other modellers to judge whether or not the complaint is justified. Obviously the solution has to be arrived at between the supplier and customer but the forum alerts other modellers that there is a problem. I wrote earlier to this thread about my problem with this retailer simply because I could not get any response to my e mails or phone calls. I did get an immediate response after adding my comments, my order was cancelled and I was told a cheque refund would be posted to me this was on the 17th Feb. No cheque has arrived e mails are still not answered.   Fred
  9. Re the 2 items on e bay I think not the output from these would not be smooth enough for you purpose   Fred
  10. Hello John I did not know the model you mentioned so I did a search for it so that I could understand what you were looking for. The first site I looked at was www.squadronleader.co.uk where I found a heading “HobbyZone Super Cub EP Spares (Old Version)” that page has the following listed Ideal for use with ParkZone DC 1.8 Amp Peak Chargers (5-10cell) and HobbyZone 1.2 Amp DC Peak Chargers and ParkZone 2-3 Cell DC Li-Po Balancing Chargers Input voltage: 220-240 volts AC /50/60 Hz Output voltage: 12 volts DC Continuous load: 5A /60 watts Integrated cigarette lighter socket for 12-volt consumers Dimensions (WxHxD):19.5 x 11.0 x 6.2cm Weight: 0.5 kg CE Rated Is this what you are looking for.   Fred
  11. I answered Grants last e mail with an explanation of why I had felt it necessary to raise the matter on the forum and asked if that meant that he did not have any servos his reply is below Fred, As explained previousely. · I now have a day job which means i only get home around 7 most evenings some evenings very late too late to return calls. · Your servo’s were posted as promised and have been lost in post, i appreciate that you and others may believe this is not the case, but i sell hundreds and hundreds of items a month including on ebay and if you look for us you will see we have a 100 percent feedback, on occasion there are hiccups, and they take time to resolve, this time it was because i ordered 300 of these servo’s and they were all sold by the time they came in so when yours were lost it meant having to wait for more to arrive, yes in hindsight i could have been much better in my communications. But i wasn’t and there is no excuse. But please do not think that because you posted on the forum you made me do something, all that achieved was me cancelling the order and processing a refund. We are a small family business and have never proclaimed to be perfect but fred we have been in business for 4 years and still thrive due to 99% satisfaction, unfortuneately you were one of the 1 % who were not treated with the service you deserved. I sincerely apologise and wish you happy modelling Kindest regards Grant The only comment I can make about this is that although it states that my servos were lost in the post my account showed my order as pending up till yesterday, now it shows cancelled. Fred
  12. Adding my comments to the forum has brought a response which 3 e mails and 7 phone calls had failed to do, not quite the one I wanted but in just over one hour after I had posted my experience on the forum an e mail was sent from foamyjets.   Dear Mr Fred Chamberlain, The status of your order id: 091128-142101-9667 has been changed to Cancelled Our staff have added the following comments: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mr Chamberlain, your order has been cancelled and i will post a cheque out to you with a refund as too much time has passed for me to do a refund via paypal to your card. I am sorry royal mail has messed us both around and you felt you needed to air your concerns on the forums , but that is your right as it is mine to cancel this contract. regards grant Once again Royal Mail is getting the blame I dont see how they can be at fault when e mails and phone calls are not answered just for the record I am a retired postman.   Edited By Timbo - Administrator on 18/02/2010 10:51:51
  13. Hello Andy It did not occur to me to have a look at the forum to see if anyone else was having trouble.   Like you I placed an order in November (28th) for 3 Ultra-Thin Servos. I ordered over the net but gave my credit card details over the phone and was told it would be put in the post today, on the 30th I noticed my account details still showed the order as pending when I questioned this I was told it had been posted that day and the account had not yet been updated. When they did not arrive(Dec10th) I was told he had confused me with another customer and as was stated on the web site more would be arriving in 2 weeks. Then a note was added to the web blaming the Royal Mail and Weather for the delay this is still there. January 31st I questioned the validity of this note the reply was “Fred I will get yours sent out to morrow without fail” once again nothing has arrived. I e mailed on the 6th Feb and again on the 10th and yet again on the 16th non of these have been replied to. This month I have phoned 7 times on 3 occasions I spoke to members of the family who could not help me but took my name and number and said that Grant would ring me, the other occasions I was told I was to be connected to the next available person and after being told that I would be answered and that my call was important to then I was simple cut off.   Judging from the comment on the site that “ following the review of the servos in RCM&E the demand was huge” I suspect there could be a lot more people with the same problem.   Needless to say Grant has still not rung or e mailed me.   Fred Chamberlain  Edited By fred chamberlain on 17/02/2010 19:16:59
