  1. Hi WolstonFlyer, Found it! Thanks a lot. Regards, Ian Sedgefield, Garden Route, South Africa
  2. Hi WolstonFlyer, THAT's IT! Thanks. I had spent the afternoon looking and didn't find it on Google. What did you type in to get the correct result? Thanks again, Ian, Sedgefield, Garden Route, South Africa
  3. Building some OLD models, I would like to use the old S.M.A.E. logo on the fin. Anyone know where I can get a picture of the original logo (picture, jpg, bmp, gif, etc.)??? Thanks, Ian
  4. Been in the game long enough to know how wise it is to ask advice - and how wise to ignore most of the crap you are told! It depends entirely on your approach to "flying" an aircraft, do you fly it on the wing or by brute force of engine power? You sound as if you understand the need to "fly" a model as a natural aircraft, in that case a cautious approach, starting with a smallish foam Spitfire to get a feeling and then deciding how big you want (and can afford) to go and GO FOR IT! My first message to all people I have taught to fly is: There are only two types of model aircraft, those that have already crashed and then those that will crash. It happens to all of us, pick up the pieces, repair and carry on or start knitting instead!
  5. There are only two types of model aircraft: Those that have crashed and Those that are going to crash. It's a smashing hobby of ours!
  6. Hi Dave, Thanks for the quick response! I've scoured the X-Plans but found no sight of it, maybe it is my age showing through. Tomorrow I'll get an order off to My Hobby Store. for the plan no: G643. £12.50 is a fair price nowadays even though back in 1956 the Christmas issue of Areomodeller cost 2/6d, though inflation taken into account the price has stayed the same! Regards, Ian, Sedgefield, South Africa.
  7. Way, way back in antiquities, to be precise - Aeromodeller Christmas issue 1956, Martin Bridge had his plan for the “Aiglet” free-flight A1 tow-line glider published as the “Free Plan”. Now in my dotage I would like to re-create something from my youth and re-build this glider. I had a X-Plan copy of the “Aiglet “ until my last house move some ten years ago – now that I want it, it is gone! Is there anyone out there that can help me in this time of need. I have tried the X-Plans, e-bay, the internet and everywhere else where the plan might exist but to no avail. Here’s to hoping that someone, somewhere can help either with a copy (for which I will gladly pay all costs involved) or even a .pdf or .jpg fike of the plan that I could use. Thanks for listening, Ian!

  10. If you want to loose an argument, try reasoning with these "holier than thou", I'm all right Jack, conservationists who claim that whatever they have done, where ever thay have gone, etc., etc. is their "God Given Right". They will claim protection and their "so called" rights from what ever authority is stupid enough to listen to their claim, most public authorities are trying to protect their own employment and want to be seen listening to the vocal majority, while these idiots are out to prevent anything reasonable the silent minority are trying to achieve. KC is vocal enough but does not give his name, why? I should not let these minor creeps get under my skin, but it riles me when tradition is seen as infringement of their rights . .
  11. How on earth do you get your password changed when logging into Hobby King?? I registered with them for the first time yesterday, trying to login today they say my password is wrong and they are sending me a new password. This after about twenty attemps still has not worked! I just hope that their delivery service works, otherwise I seem to have lost money . . . Ian Laing Sedgefield South Africa
  12. Hi All, Thanks for all the replies! I have queried both HobbyKing and Giant Cod - Giant Cod seems to have the wire needed. 10/10 for the Forum, it has answered me in my direst need! Regards, Ian
  13. Hi Eamonn, At last, a source identified!!! Thanks for the reply, I have never dealt with them as I assume they are in the USA. If possible I was hoping for a U.K. supplier - if I can't find one I will order from HobbyKing. Regards, Ian
  14. Hi, My first attempt in broadcasting my inability to find what I desperately need!!! I'm looking for a roll of Spektrum/JR sevo wire (brownred//orange) to make up my own servo extension leads. Servo plugs and sockets are available from many sources and I have found a place that might have Futaba HD servo wire, but the HD brown/red/orange wire I cannot source. Any length from 5 to 20 meters of 20 or 22 s.w.g. will suit me and anything else that might come to your mind. Thanks in anticipation, Ian Laing Sedgefield, South Africa
  15. Started with a Jim Walker Interceptor catapult glider at about 6 years old (1947), on and off since then. Latest is micro electric aircraft guided (aimed?) by Spektrum. Regards, Ian Laing

  19. Thanks for a great nostalgic trip. I had forgotten how old the Graupner "Cirrus" and C.G. Jr. Falcon were - I'm still flying my original Cirrus and have just rebuilt the Jr. Falcon and Jr. Skylark!   The Jr. Falcon I first powered as original and flew it with an OLD O.S. Pixie single channel radio, it now powered by an outrunner and flown multi-channel with a Spectrum radio - fun, but not as exciting as single channel.   I'n now pondering a multi-channel, electric "Push Moth"   Thanks again!
  20. 1. 68 years - started with a Jim Walker "Interceptor" catapult, folding wings glider at about six years old.   2. Both thermal and slope and now electric
  21. 1. BRC - outstanding service 2. Sussex Model Centre 3. Overlander Kit? Replikit, Ben Buckle!
