  1. A 40th anniversary FA-200 would be a good choice.
  2. Would you do several engines or only pick one to make a 40th anniversary edition. A Laser 80 or 100 40th anniversary would be my vote. Something to power a sport airplane with no cowl to show it off. Is something new not an option?
  3. OS 6 is a hot plug. 8 is medium and 7 is in between. If you have an Enya 3 give that a try first.
  4. Do the Laser 70 and 80 have the same mounting bolt pattern?
  5. Thanks, you previously recommended 15% oil for my Saito engines. I will use that same mix for everything except my Laser engines. .
  6. I am in the US and most run fuel with 15% nitro and 18-20% oil. After purchasing a Laser engine, I started mixing my own fuel with 10% oil. Started reading this forum and found that many use low oil for all engines. I only have a couple of 2-stroke engines that I fly. A Super Tigre 75 and 90 (G series). I am going to mix custom fuel for them starting next spring and wanted some thoughts on the subject. .
  7. Explaining stuff over and over is all part of good customer service.
  8. I had the same thought when I was just installing my new Laser 70. Looks to be a very simple option that would make instillation so much easier in some airplanes.
  9. Are they made in the UK, EU or Asia?
  10. I have never seen one of these engines run. Are they any good? https://www.morrisminimotors.com/jp-52-abc-aero-engine-8-52cc.html
  11. I was thinking of starting with a 13x6.
  12. I will be building a sport airplane (SIG 4-star 60) this winter with a Laser 70. What's a good prop to start with and what RPM should I be looking at on the ground?
  13. I like RC Planes calculator. They also have a Canard and Flying Wing calculator. https://rcplanes.online/cg_calc.htm https://rcplanes.online/cg_canard.htm https://rcplanes.online/cg_wing.htm
  14. On my 70 the size is stamped on the left mount. My 70 also has two valve cover screws.
  15. I have a FT-160 so I know all about low oil fuel. The 160 is also a fantastic engine. It gets many flights every week! BTW what prop are you using on the FT200?
  16. Jon, What RPM can I expect from a FT-200 with 18x6 and 18x8 props.
  17. I need some opinions for my next Sport Aerobatic airplane. I am in the US and am thinking of getting a Hanger 9 Tiger 30cc ARF from Tower Hobbies. I want to put a FT-200 on it. 90 inch wingspan and 16-18 lb. Probably a little more with a FT-200. Will the FT-200 have enough power for sport aerobatics? Is there a better ARF choice?
  18. I agree. As long as Laser engines are high quality, I don't see any reason for them to less expensive than Saito or OS. I'm sure that the 70 and 80 will still sell at a "profitable" price. Those smaller Laser engines are perfect for sport flyers and probably get more flight time than the big ones.
  19. Any news on gasoline engines. That market is really taking off in the US. That would be a way to really increase the company's income. There are also complaints about the web store. Put in a shopping cart system would also help sales. Just trying to help keep the company financially healthy for years to come.
  20. A 50 to 60cc Radial is something that I would be interested in. Looking forward to seeing the prototype test runs.
  21. Radial Questions: 1. What type of intake and exhaust will they have. It would easier to install and tune if it had an intake manifold and a single carb. Exhaust rings are very popular, that's what I like. 2. What size for the first prototype? Will you have a prototype by the end of the year?
  22. I think that the type and quality of the oil is as important as the amount. The modern synthetic oils are much better than the oils of 40 years ago. If you ask the local experts about fuel, also ask what type and brand of oil. I really like KL-198, that's all I use.
  23. Today I did more fuel testing with my Saito 56. Because of Jon's recommendation I increased the Oil and decreased the nitro. Old mix was 12/12, new mix is 9% nitro and 15% oil. I could feel the difference in flight (less power). Engine runs well and power is plenty for my 4-star 40 so that will be my standard mix for that engine, and probably all my Saito engines.
