  1. I think I have a craft robo cutter some where in the attic up for grabs if anyone is intrested I just have to find it but I'm going away for a week camping
  2. @SIMON CRAGGI didn't mean to make this post awkward Sorry Right now, the vinyl that came with the plane is rolled up. Are there any tips on making it flat or do I just fight with it to place on the plane
  3. I have the 1600 phoenix s as it was me just fishing for a Christmas gift from the wife to start this hobby. I was diagnosed with right heart failure 12 months ago which is terminal yep I have anywhere from 2 years to 5 years expected left. I have found myself just sitting in the house watching TV waiting to die. But this is not good for the mental health of my wife and friends, also myself so I decided to take up flying. Flying started out with a drone for a caravan site LOOK around because of my health I can’t walk very far anymore as a result of my health condition. I love to take photos while I’m on holiday. But to get me off the chair at home I have decided to fly planes as the drone’s a very much weather dependent where flying planes can cope a bit better with the wind
  4. I have a flight Sim "Pheonix 6" I use it twice a week with one ribbon on a wing so I can see left or right while learning to fly a plane I have just added a TV to the kitchen wall so I can stand and operate the transmitter standing up and the TV is much bigger than my laptop plus I increase the plane/model size to max 200% I think the supplied tubing supplied is a bit on the small side
  5. The kit has got some tube's for the control rod's I may change these out for some shrink wrap. The control clevis has the design that it will stop from squeezing too tight built in stop on the pin
  6. @SIMON CRAGG can I ask the controler horn and the servo arm, the pin doesn't fit together do you have to drill out the holes. can you point me in the right direction on begginer setting's What holes would you use on the glider
  7. So I'm building the glider up and came across this image and just wondered what the glue is being used as it's not in the instrucions But looking at the image is it glue or a simple drawing of a battery ?
  8. I'm no expert and I'm not sure what you are gluing but could you use food wrap to go around your material two or three times Cling film (food wrap) just a thought
  9. I'm going to leave the building of a kit until next winter. there are just to many sweets in the shop window. I was just looking for plane three to build for the next stage of my learning curve. Like I said I have a glider and a riot to fly first but I did think by the time I had built a plane (next stage) I would be ready as a lot of the builds I've read in the fourm have taken anywhere between 6 months to 2-3-5 years. So for now I'm staying with what I have until i'm ready to go to the next model thank you all for the infomation given freely
  10. That Kyosho Calmato Sport is a nice looker I like the orange one I've seen on the internet https://www.rocousa.com/kyosho/kyosho_11215.htm
  11. @DavidDavis 2 Thank you for your advice I'm going for the Seagull Boomerang 61 but what is the difference between a High wing and a low wing. I know that they are mounted High and low but what is the difference in flight?
  12. Don I also have a pillar drill right then just a kit to buy. thanks for all the suggestion everyone
  13. @Caveman Yes you are right I'm after my third plane for when I'm ready and confident to fly the next stage of my learning curve as you have suggested a plane I can build (balsa). I have looked at some of the builds on the forum as there are quite a few that have taken anywhere from 6 months to 5 years to build. I do have some hand tools plus a home made cnc machine, a wood lathe, a big band saw, router both ¼ and ½ inch and a nice bench saw. I have a Dremel as well so hand tool my hand tools are well stocked, but I don’t own an electric fretsaw I do own an electric bench sander. Wood glue, CA glue and a small laser engraver that would cut thin balsa and card (ortho) I have soldering iron, hot air gun and a glue gun. I have a compresser and spray gun small (300ml header) and a air brush or two So yes I'm after a plane like the Cirrus I can build and when I'm ready to fly it CNC has a cutting area for 1200x800cm quite big for home made and the laser is two foot square I think I also have a Jig saw (hand held)
  14. Wow so many planes to choose from also it’s always humbles me at the response’s given freely So back to the kit. I don’t own a fret saw So I would need to go down the avenue of laser cut material. I quite like the look of the barnstormer 63. I will be using electric motor (not interested in IC) where do I start do I just order a kit. Also will the kit include hardware like linkage, hindges and servo's ?
