  1. I don't know that one but if you want fast on 2200 3S (depends on your C rating though), how about the F-27Q ?
  2. This guy's hard to please How about the E-Flite Ultra Stick 25e ? Less than £110 plus postage for something that's very agile if you want it to be ?
  3. Posted by Dean on 16/07/2012 19:37:39: The Chipmunk and Bulldog look like the real thing YT make some lovely models Codename-John - I fancy one of those Radjet 800s bargain for under £39 I have a brushed twinjet I was going to convert to brushless but doesn't seem worth it when I can get one of those Radjets so cheap. Thanks for pointing them out!! Dean Quite. I was thinking about buying depron for some budget flying but by the time that you've been out and bought carbon and so on it's not that budget any more. Check out this review of the Radjet 800 that I've seen before and thought was reasonable.
  4. Posted by Alan Cantwell on 16/07/2012 17:36:29: This ia a GREAT free advert thread, can we start a YT international thread as well Yes, after HK have sent me loads of free stuff Seriously though, when have we seen such a massive influx of easily available low-cost models onto our shores ? This is a great chance for a lot of modellers to aquaint themselves with lower cost modelling. Last year, I told myself that I was going back to the budget park flying that first got me started. I've flown a GWS Formosa for more hours than anything else. Really good flying for the money. Instead, I then went on to spend more than £1000 and I've barely been able to use it,
  5. Posted by Andy Butler on 16/07/2012 14:29:23: Scott, Would it be possible to collect orders from the warehouse? . Better than that, we'll go down there and get out all of the stuff for you
  6. Posted by Scott Cuppello - HobbyKing on 16/07/2012 13:51:16: Posted by NigelH on 16/07/2012 07:48:06: Thanks Scott. Will we be seeing more new items in the UK warehouse today ? Much more to come but shipping containers is not exactly an exact science! Of course. Now, if you could just look for the KK2 boards please
  7. Thanks Scott. Will we be seeing more new items in the UK warehouse today ?
  8. Don't do it. Line up the surfaces the best way that you can, check and double check the CG and then have someone with you to do the trimming. Get it high as fast as you can so that you've got time to make the changes,
  9. Interesting. When you look at it, it's a beauty for next to nothing.
  10. E-Flite Carbon Z Yak ? Sbach 342 30e (and several others) from HK UK ?
  11. I'd say that the opening of the Hobby King UK warehouse is the most significant thing to happen to the hobby in many years. They have already added dozens and dozens of new models, many at very low prices. With the threat of high customs and admin charges now gone, I'd expect that a lot of forum members will be buying these models for the first time. I'd say that it would be helpful for people to share their experiences, good or bad. It could be, for example, that while someone may see an obvious flaw with a model, there could be a cheap and easy fix that people can make which would turn it into something really good. I'll share one tip now. A guy at the club recently took an Alpha Jet EDF 64mm 4s w/Bomb Drop EPO 745mm (PNF). I'd seen it on the Flitetest video and it looked good in the flesh. Someone agrees to maiden it for him. It gets a good shove and off it went, for about thirty seconds. It then broke up mid-air. It turns out that the guy hadn't pulled out the wings and glued them back in. It could be that the instructions were unclear or that the guy didn't read them. Either way, worth bearing in mind.
  12. Posted by Bob Cotsford on 14/07/2012 08:37:41: are you just trolling or are you really serious? Hence, my comment on the choice of name
  13. I've just noticed that Als are giving away E-Flite retracts with the BNF model. At £252 though, it doesn't seem like a lot of model for the money. Still, my PZ P-47 with the retracts and flaps cost about £200. If I'd looked at it as the total deal instead of adding the retracts and then the flaps, I probably wouldn't have bothered.
  14. Maverick. Interesting name You really can't come to that conclusion as you don't know what their plans are in terms of margins, establishing the UK operation, etc..
  15. I can see that Scott and myself are both at 702 posts. How about that ? Of course, now I'm ahead and win a £100 Hobby King voucher
  16. Posted by Garbo on 12/07/2012 19:45:38: Posted by NigelH on 12/07/2012 19:39:28: I was waiting for the speed controllers before ordering a Bixler but now they are here, the Bixlers have gone. With some LEDs they should make a soothing easy flyer, even once the nights have drawn in. When will we be seeing more in the UK ? The AXN Floater comes reccomended by a few guys who fly them in all kinds of weather and as fpv mounts Good advice thanks. Too public though, I suspect. I went there and they'd got one left. I read the reviews from one of their other sites to find that it's at least as good as the Bixler, albeit a little smaller, only to find that when I went back to the UK site again it had been sold. Might have been Bob Gadd ? As mentioned above, one thing worth doing when looking at the items is to search for the same item from the other locations, just to see what issues people may have had. HK really ought to merge all the discussions and reviews into a single database so that no matter where you choose to shop from, all the information is there.
  17. It's time that Hobby King sort out the currency issues. When you change to GBP the site takes you back to the homepage. HK told me that they'd fix this. Also, if you select the UK warehouse, and they've already asked where you are, the currency should default to GBP. I've been really pleased to see the stock increase over the last few days but nothing has been added today
  18. Yep, my AC68 debonder has worked a treat, as I said a month ago
  19. Build it with Depron and it will be even lighter.

  21. Posted by Turbycat on 12/07/2012 16:44:30: I just use some bubble wrap taped together to form bags for a couple of my planes wings. Works ok for transporting them in the car. Bonus is I get it free from work Andy Same for me but mine's from Poundland
  22. That's a good price for shipping. Some would be after a tenner or so. Pleased you like it.
  23. I don't see why it wouldn't turn out right. As I said, it's a 'proper' model that you can fly almost anywhere. I meant to mention one issue with mine which isn't unique to me. I couldn't slot the wing into the gap, with it overlapping the former by a couple of mm. I spoke with Al about it and they checked one in the store which had the same issue. He would have taken it back but I chose to lightly sand the rear of the wing and iron on a little of the spare covering that comes with the model. That was the proper decision. I'm no 'proper' modeller but you would have had to look very hard to see what I'd done.
  24. Agreed. It's common to use an analogue servo for throttle while using digitals for the control surfaces.
  25. Tom, I looked up which motor I bought for it. Mounting was easy and power was easily good enough for scale flying but not for speed. Of course, there are lots of other motors around and the same motor will be available from other retailers.
