Bulsa craft Blenhiem - 60" wing big old brushed motors Edited By Stephen Stokes on 21/05/2009 12:15:37 -
Hi Danny Slowly building my Sea Fury, could you post some pics of the battery installation for reference. Thanks Did you need to add weight to the nose to balance the air frame? Steve

4 Axis T/X setup
Stephen Stokes replied to Ultymate's topic in Gliders and Gliding - General Discussion
Well I read your articles Andy and I was inspired and have been experimenting with the 4th axis. For this I built a Wasabi look-a-like from the free down load for the wings and my own fuz. It definitely adds that extra to the flight envelop, and Ive still got to develop my landing skills. In flight you can drop the flaps or raise the spolerons and stop the plane dead, change direction and have a great fun Still learning every flight -

Hi All Picture of my Wild Thing when on holiday in Cornwall, couldn't sit on the beach so I took the opportunity to fly with the seagulls. -
LEG Jart Build
Stephen Stokes replied to Matthew Lloyd's topic in Gliders and Gliding - General Discussion
I have the pdf file from Mr Reed and when building my wing for the EPP fuz I compared their cross sections. The EPP section is fatter. You also have a fatter EPP fuz for strength so I assume more drag and a slower plane. The Jart LT I understand has the same wing section as the original concept and should be faster. You may need some way of slowing the thing up on landing. I have only had the opportunity to fly the EPP Jart in-land in winds up to around 35mph. It can be slowed to walking pace into wind and landing has not been a problem with no nasty tip stall problems. Being EPP is has lasted very well, I did blunt the nose purposely when building it and this may help as it wont dig in and flip over. And even after hitting the fence that had barbed wire on the top the holes were easily tapped over. I bow to your superior knowledge on setting up the plane; it never hurts to have the option of spoilerons or flaps. I found them very in effective, good luck on the maiden. -
LEG Jart Build
Stephen Stokes replied to Matthew Lloyd's topic in Gliders and Gliding - General Discussion
Flaps no flaps just use a fence like me or one point landings like Mr Read I tried spoilerons not much effect but very easy to apply with one servo per wing. Love the finish you got on that curved fuz, not an easy task. well done... -
LEG Jart Build

Matt A few pictures of the built up wing I added to my EEP Jart Fuz. The red line on the top of the main spare is a very low stretch fibre used for bow sting in archery I had laying around. Two strands of this really increased the stiffness of the wing and I will be using it on all my build from now on. Carbon strip or carbon string is probably the more common product to use.
