  1. I am looking for a complete Raptor 50 clutch. One I bought recently came fitted with a Raptor 30 clutch. thanks Bill W.
  2. Thanks for all the replies. I should have realised they were rolled. I knew there was a method of creating a thread without losing metal. With my advancing years my memory isn’t what it was. I think it will be easier to get some new set of pv0044 link rods. The problem I have is finding somewhere that sells them, they all seem to be out of stock. Thanks Bill W.
  3. Hi, As all the linkage rods on my Raptor 50 are 2mm dia, I thought I would change them to Stainless. What I have found is that although the rods are 2mm, the max diameter of the thread is 2.2mm. How are these rods threaded to get them a larger diameter than the rod itself? All I can think of is that they are put in a threaded clamp of some sort and the thread is pressed in. That is the only way I can see a thread being created without losing metal in the process and making the thread diameter larger than the rod itself. Can anyone tell me how the thread is done on the link rods?
  4. I am still looking for both the Raptor 50 carbon fibre frame and any Quick UK Red alloy parts to fit Thunder Tiger Raptor 30/50 parts. Any parts any condition would be appreciated. Must be Red anodised. Thanks Bill W.
  5. Going to change all the bearings. Thanks for the website John Lee.

    Bearings

I am looking to replace the high speed bearings on the main-shaft and the starter/clutch shaft along with the 4 in the tail unit. Does any one have a source I can purchase these from in the UK? With the original shielded bearings, is it possible to re-oil/grease them. If so, what is the best way to do it?
  7. Hi, I have seen this recently but unfortunately the link to Heli innovations is a dead one as the site no longer exists.
  8. Still looking. Does anybody know who originally made them???
  9. Posted pictures!!! I guess there is no interest. Back in the attic. Bill W.
  10. Hi Philip, I would be interested in buying your Raptor What sort of price are you thinking of. Regards Bill W. contact via e-mail. [email protected]
  11. Bought a couple of Raptors at the weekend and they are kitted out with JR servos, 7 NES 591, 1xhitec HS 605BB, on the throttle of one of them. Each has a CSM 360 Gyro. One has an NES 8700C tail servo and the other an NES 2700G? There are also 2 x JR 35Mhz Rx’s 9ch NER 549Y available as well. Unfortunately there was no manual with the Tx. I am a Futaba man, so these aren’t a lot of use to me. This along with the JRX-388Swill soon be available to purchase should anyone require them. All offers welcome. I will leave this on here for a few weeks. Thanks Bill W.
  12. The parts in the photo’s had just come out of a chemical clean in my ultrasonic bath. There are also small bearings to be removed as well. Still pondering as to how to remove some of the small bearings in parts like the flybar carrier where you have a small bearing at either end but access to only one side of each bearing. Not easy???
  13. Fairly used working with dangerous chemicals and all the relevant H&S regs so from that side I’m OK. I might even buy an anodising kit and go from there. The only decent colour anodising I have come across is in relation to the Raptor upgrades I bought from Quick UK many years ago. They appear to be closing down that part of the business and are selling off all the stock that they have left. Many others I have tried in the past haven’t really been up to it. Bill W.
  14. I suspect the problem is a lack of thickness of the anodising. Cheap parts. To this end I want to take out all the fitted bearings. What is the best way to do this? I will replace the bearings when I determine the sizes. I will then remove the rest of the anodising and then try my hand at re-anodising them. Anyone tried the DIY route at all? Cheers Bill W.
  15. Hi all, Ref the anodising problem. I have now done all the “ Blue anodised parts” and all bar the flybar carrier have suffered loss of the anodising. How easy/difficult is it to re- anodise the existing parts. I am in no rush and happy to try my hang at anodising. Cheers Bill W.
  16. I was trawling through my photo’s, and came across one of the Raptor with the carbon fibre frame that I paid an arm and a leg for. The photo is dated Sept 2001. I can’t remember if it was a 30 or 50 that it was fitted with, not that it makes a lot of difference. Has anyone come across one lately, or know where I might find one? ManyThanks. Bill W.
  17. Recently bought a Raptor 50 with an alloy head, blade holders and flybar mixing levers. Because the heli hadn’t been used for some time I have stripped it down for a deep clean. All the blue “anodised alloy” parts were put into my ultrasound cleaner. Most of them came out fine but the mixing levers were another story. See included photo. Bill W.
  18. More close-ups of the outrunners, esc’s, folding prop and batteries if you want any more just let me know. Thanks Bill W.
  19. Photo’s of my B.o.T. I am located in Hull, not far from the Humber Bridge. HU4 7BG.
  20. Several years ago I built a Bird of Time glider with 5foot wingspan. Once I had built it I lost interest and went on to Helicopters. It has sat in the loft, complete but still uncovered. All parts are there, fuselage, wings, tailplane and rudder. I had intended to power it and to that end I have a couple of motors, a couple of esc’s and a folding prop. There are also a couple of 2S Li-Po batteries, condition unknown, but never charged or used since buying them. I am open to offers for the lot. If you would like some pics I can get some organised. Quick UK

Hi All, Quick UK are no longer actively pursuing the manufacture of quality alloy parts for out Heli’s. I have just got back into heli’s after 20 years and want to fit as many QuickUK parts as I can to my newly acquired Raptor 50 V2 I have asked Budd at Quick if he will have a look and see what Raptor 50 V2 bits they still have. If any of you are getting rid of any helis with Quick UK parts fitted, please let me know. Should you know anyone that is getting rid of any Quick UK parts, let them know I am looking for Quick UK parts for Raptor 50V2. All help greatly appreciated. I will pay fair prices for any new or used Quick UK parts for the Raptor50 V2. Many Thanks Bill W. [email protected].
  22. I have recently bought a Raptor 50 Nitro. My intention was to get a load of Quick UK parts for it, as the last one I had 20 years ago was decked out with Quick parts and flew well. Unfortunately Quick are stopping making heli parts. Does any one have any Quick parts for a Raptor 50 they would be willing to sell? Thanks Bill W
  23. I had a raptor 50 a few years ago that I set the headspeed to 1500 rpm using a Governor. The left stick controlled pitch only, with the governor taking care of any changes in using the pitch or cyclic sticks by maintaining the headspeed at 1500 rpm. Bill W.
  24. Some 15 or 20 years ago, I bought a prototype frame and pitch control arm made out of Carbon Fibre, I found them to be excellent to fly with, but at the time expensive. Shortly afterwards, I sold all my heli’s. I have recently returned to heli’s and was wondering if they are still made? I can’t seem to find any trace of them. Any info would be appreciated. Bill W.
