  1. Matt I have the plans for the 66" Super Scorpion, free flighter with lovely tapered eliptical wings. A great flier,i had os 30 power in mine but i feel a 30 fs would be just the job. If i can help just let me Know  Regards Jim
  2. Damien I should have said tip of the rudder and not the fin. Jim
  3. Damien, This was my first venture into radio control flying,i built this model over 20 yrs. ago and its a great flyer,I powered mine with an Enya 60 fs. If you look at the the tip of the fin you will see its not true scale, the moth has a rounded fin. I hope the photo comes out ok JIm
  4. Just used  spars and guess work,it certainly looks odd to see a Super doing a roll,we've had some fine weather this last week ideal for vintage stuff. I have just received the plans for Mercury 3  a 96" free flighter modded for radio and this will be the winter project,i'll need half a rain forrest to supply the wood for  the build . Jim
  5. Steve MIni Super had test flight last nite, dead calm conditions and she flew like a dream with the new aileron / flap wing Ailerons are very effective with no sign of adverse yaw , slight pich up when flaps are deployed. I'm delighted. Cheers  Jim
  6. My best pal Al. I found it yesterday and its on order,i knew I had seen it somewhere but i could not remember the site. My link to MAP aint working so Google found it no probs when you get to pension age the memory falis at times ( by the way, wots your name again bonny lad ). many thanks for the info just the same. Someone might point you out at the next club meeting and i'll thank you in person. Cheers Al. JIm
  7. Does anyone have the plans for Mercury 3 that i may beg ,steal ,borrow , copy or as a last resort  buy. RCM&E plans service have a plan for the Mercury but  the one i'm after is the Mercury 3 ,might be the designers latest version of the Mercury.  Jim
  8. Sloper This is my method, get a roll of old wallpaper and cut it to the length of your fuz. then using carbon paper trace the fuz outline onto the back of the wallpaper, cut it out and draw round  the paper template onto your balsa sheet and there you have it.  Jim
  9. Check out Pheonix model products for Futaba 136 six channel receivers, best price i have seen £24-99. worth a look
  10. Tim I normally slide a piece of fuel tube over the wire to prevent any short circuit on the fins,i have also used the brass insert from a 5 amp electrical connector  to connect the wire to the plug, never had any probs and its easy to remove the plug after removing the connector. Jim
  11. Hi guys I just use modelling pins, two from each side into the "sandwich " and then sand the pack to shape, Jim
  12. Steve, 4 mini servos in the wing,BRC hobbies is in my neck of the woods so i got a 4 pack for £17 all in and they work just fine . Hope to get a test flight tomoz if weather is ok,i'll let you know how it goes, interesting me thinks!!! Jim
  13. Steve H New wing with ailerons and flaps, just waiting for test flight
  14. Got mine from a golf trolley and its brill.
  15. Steve/Robin Unfortunately i don't have copying facilities but i have no problems sending one of you the plan and the magazine with the build article ,feel free to copy it and pass it on. I'll let you two decide who gets it first  Send me a Pm with the address and i'll pop them in the post  Toot Sweet ( i hope Myron likes my Fench ) Regards  Jim
  16. Robin, Sorry for the delayed reply, been away for a few days. Mini Hog was a free plan in Radio Modeller 1994 and was designed by the late Harry Gilkes and is 42" span, its a great flier on OS 15 . Regards Jim
  17. Alan, As Bob says  Just Engines is the place for your silencer spacer. Look under Accessories and then exhaust accessories and you will find them there priced at £8-99 for the 35mm spacer. I built the Cap 21 a while back and it goes like stink on SC 32. Jim
  18. Steve, Boddos plan is the tail dragger version,i have seen pics of the trike version but i think the t/d has the edge for me. I see you are in the Skelmersdale area, when i was at work i used to deal with a fork truck company at West Pimbo. We need to think of something for Andy F,cant have OS 15 lying idle. Jim.
  19. Steve / Andy Thanks for the kind comments, Music to an old mans ears, the Super is a Boddington version of the real thing and flies very well on the old OS 15 and is so docile my wife flew it no probs after a 28yr. lay off the sticks.Great fun on a summers night ( if we ever get one ) Steve,if you build the super you must go for OS15 and keep it Traditional,no offence to electric flyers of course . I may build an aileron wing for it in the future but can you imagine the purists at the patch if they see a Super doing all sorts of queer things. The first one i ever built was the Tyro Major way back in 1978,i remember it well and thats what started it all. Andy F,i'll post a pic of the mini Astro hog asap,it may light your fire and and is a cracker flier. Regards Jim
