  1. 1.  pegasus models 2. hobbycity/brc both equally as good 3 - 4.  my indestructable flying wing v trainer
  2. Mosquito   i love the look of a biplane   no preference after that really
  3. obliterated my first model on its 3rd flight on a runway at RAF Bruggen.  instructor talking me through a landing coming in lovely and slow (so i thought), instructor warning me about hitting some object or other - everything looked OK to me he must be looking at something else - then BANG.  Flew it straight into a runway marker, pushed then engine right through the frame - a wooden one at that.  wings split and decided to decorate the runway, bits everywhere. I'm just dumbstruck listening to the famous instructor one liner - "you didn't want to do that!!!!", maybe they do know what they are talking about. As for timbos comment - it did naff me off and i did take up golf which ran down the side of the runway as all good RAF stations do. After that its hard to learn without a model and it was well beyond repair and i was improving at my golf so the flying took second place until i got back from Germany.
  4. looking  at the pictures though they seem very low at the fron so that would limit the size of prop, which reading in your other posts affect what motor you could use.  I'm a yorkshireman by birth and hate the idea of buying something i may not be able to convert correctly.
  5. Just looking through the oodles of websites for a training model and keep catching sight of these PTS models that allow you to continue beyond a training model.  I like the looks of the P51 and F22 (and lets face it thats whats really! important) that hanger 9 produce but its only I.C.  Has anyone heard of someone converting these models to electric flight? having read the build manuals on line it doesnt "appear" top be that difficult. I did look at E-Flights T34 PTS but that was ruled out on cost before even reading the burb, suprised they dont provide different options of kit to allow you to use your own gear.  Any comments?
  6. The article states that  a review was due in the "bumper issue"  i've had a look through and cant find it.  was it late or is it just scheduled for another issue.  I've been looking at this on the web and thinking of buying it as a crimbo pressie for myself, it does lok the part and i read somewhere that it can be easily converted to electric motor.
  7. i have thought about this but too nervous to take the plunge.  i think a workshop would be the safest bet, best i get on the t'interweb and have a look for a local course.  well written article dave.
  8. James i notice this is an old(er) thread but how did the build/setup/flying go?  i was looking at the easycub then saw this one one the web.  Would be interested in your views as i am a beginner to.  I currently "play" about with a flying wings v-tail trainer.  it can get buffeted about in moderate winds but its as docile as you can get, plus it glide really well if you get into trouble and shut off the motor.
  9. looks a good un for a beginner, how easy would it be to add ailerons to this king of model?
