Great news stephen now to many days of happy flying rob -
Alway turn the transmitter on first never the other way round as one thing you could have transmitter on wrong model etc if you are going to mess around with your heli please disconnect the esc from motor or move motor cog away from main drive train safety first and for most as soon as you connect the main battery the heli is live and should be handled with great care always !! rob Edited By Robert Bromwich on 15/11/2009 15:29:20

Hi and welcome to the site Darrel, please check out the newbie area of this great site Welcome Area now to the hopefull answer: Have you tried reversing the elevator servo settings on your transmitter ?? you might have to also reverse the ailreon and throttle stick settings BUT IF YOU DO PLEASE DISCONNECT THE MOTOR FROM THE ESC FIRST. which TX have you got ? rob Edited By Robert Bromwich on 15/11/2009 13:50:18 Edited By Robert Bromwich on 15/11/2009 13:54:21

Paddy The CX3 will not be any harder to fly then the other co-axial heli's you have flown so will not be learning anything you dont already no where the MSR being a fixed pitched single will be the next step so i would go for the MSR Rob
-
the swashplate should move upwards when u move throttle up to give postive pitch so you might have to reverse the servos .the way yours is at the moment you will have negtive pitch when u throttle up. only set it on digital if your using a digital servo which i guess your not as you have only swapped the RX so leave that well alone. just make sure that if you have a quick go that the nose of the heli moves the way u move the alireon stick i.e left stick -nose left (tail right) rob Edited By Robert Bromwich on 14/11/2009 22:10:11

one last try put all your settings back to when u started and then try just reversing just the elevator servo if that doesnt work then best idea goto your LHS they will/should be able to sort it out no problem its very hard trying to figure out whats wrong without seing it face to face rob pete ; No problem just hopefully them videos can help if my last try doesnt. like you said these helicopters are very dangeous and have already said about joining club etc Edited By Robert Bromwich on 14/11/2009 18:08:55

here a video not to good quality as just throw it on to show you helicopter ccpm movement throttle and pitch controlled by throttle stick movement then tilts swashplate left /right etc i hope you can see what is happening and as u can se you dont need much movement on them for flight robEdited By Robert Bromwich on 14/11/2009 16:48:01

try changing the swashplate mix to ailreons = +75% elevators= +75% pitch = +75% what u need it to do is move all servos when u add throttle and this will as well up the pitch for liftEdited By Robert Bromwich on 14/11/2009 16:14:19

you said on first post about dx7 so thought you had one of them anyway goto here spekrum dx6i manual and goto page 89 and set it for 3 servos and try again hopefully getting somewhere fingers crossed you might have to plug one of the elevator servos into AUX 1 if you havent already done so robEdited By Robert Bromwich on 14/11/2009 15:49:17

i have this radio so when you switch radio on hold down at the same time the two buttons (access)on the bottom left this will take you to model sellect mode ,then press scroll down once you should be in (swashplate types) you have a choose of 4 setting 1. normal - thats one servo for swashplate pitch movement(think this is what you have it on) 2. 2 servos 180 deg 3. 3 serovs 120 deg 4. 3 servos 90 deg by what i can see on video you need number 3 (3 servos 120 deg) when you have done this press both buttons again now try this u might have to reverse the servos to get them to move the right way one more question have you flown helicopters before ?? i would quess only small 4 blade ones, if not then i would diffo join a local club as these thing can go wrong very quickly ? rob Edited By Robert Bromwich on 14/11/2009 15:14:59 Edited By Robert Bromwich on 14/11/2009 15:18:32

just had another look at video and looks like you have settings wrong on controller it should be set like this: 1. throttle up the swashplate should move level upwards 2. move control stick forward both back servos should move swashplate up and front should move swashplate down 3. move control stick back both back servos should move swashplate down and front should move swashplate up 4. move control stick left, left servo should move swashplate down and right one up ,front doesnt move up or down and oppisite for right stick movement hope this helps rob

Gaz How i look at the servos that am going to put in a plane etc is like this. 1. how long did the model take to make ?? 2. how much did everything cost ?? then i think for the price of something alittle bit better is it worth losing a plane that might fly great, that i will take and fly everytime i goto the field. so my answer is if ive paid £500 on plane, engine etc what is another few pounds for better servos i know you can pay hundreds for servos but just £5 or £6 more per servo can alot of difference Just my Pennys worth RobEdited By Robert Bromwich on 14/11/2009 14:37:15

Hi Rookie have you centred all of your servos ,if you have then disconnect the elevator servo arm and move it to the centre of the servo movement. if you have done this then try moving the linkage in by screwing the connector in by the looks from the video looks like the servo arm might just need moving how many servos are there controling the swashplate looks like 3 ? what ccpm setting have you programmed on the controller should be 180 deg when you have finished and in idle the swashplate should be level and when you throttle up the swashplate should move level upwards which will give you positive pitch and lift. rob Edited By Robert Bromwich on 14/11/2009 14:22:01

Since its about the same weight as my BH su31 i am surprised that the 0.46 engine isnt powerfull enough like i said in earlyer post mines fine what nitro % are you using im on 10% with a 4 stroke plug in ? Delta ; ive flown mine 3 times since and never had a problem with any tip stalling ,but i have only got 15mm each way set on elevators and thats enough any more it diffo would drop a wing if going to slow Rob -
Try this BRC

Hi Stephen Glad to here that it flew well just a shame you found it underpowered as says for 0.46 engine, what AUW is it ,is it under 6Ibs. anyway the sc53 should make it fly better, pictures please i have just purchased the black horse su31 40size (just under 6Ibs)and maidened it last friday and what a lovely plane that is to, to fly and look at. I have a sc46 in it and flys about 1/2 to 3/4 power and would recommend this plane to anyone happy flying rob -
money is always involved but have a good look around first i.e ebay etc for cheaper servos also if you are thinking about a digital servo just check that the gyro can use them first which i think it can but please double check as will not work if it doesnt i will have a look around for standard size digital servo for u and post them on here if i find any cheapish one rob
-
Hi have you tried this compo before as i would say that the servo isnt fast enough for that gyro as servo is just a standard high torgue one not a fast digital servo so this will cause the gyro to over work the servo and so start the oscillation rob have just looked up the servo on servo shop and this servo isnt fast enough for that gyro you need it about 0.08 seconds to 60 deg where this servo is 0.18 sec which is 2 times slower try this servo Hitec HS-7966HB this is 0.08 to 60 deg @ 4.8v that should be fine Edited By Robert Bromwich on 11/11/2009 16:39:44 Edited By Robert Bromwich on 11/11/2009 16:43:47

Hi simon and welcome just one thing that it might be is have u set up the full throttle setting on the ESC and also set it up for lipo's etc ?? if not goto hobbykings website it says how to on there for that ESC rob
-
Hi Martyn just a few things to check ,is there free and easy movement on the tail linkage also what speed is the servo ?? as these gryos need a fast servo otherwise u get tick tock robEdited By Robert Bromwich on 11/11/2009 16:00:00

well the links back up and running but the price has gone up to £35 not very good when they have already sent emails out at with the price saying £29 ?? but anyway for a charger like that still not a bad but would have been better at the first price ? rob
