  6. The master has triumphed again, lovely model Danny, many congratulations on the flights looks a real pussycat in the air. One question mate, how do you get your four strokes running so quiet Catch up soon.
  7. RIP Dave, that's sad news. Woebetide any of you D P ers if they ain't in a straight line at Weston. I used to like his knowledgeable commentary when you flew. As you said Chris, Ken and him will be having a good old chinwag up there.
  8. Posted by Dwain Dibley. on 03/03/2017 00:48:28: Mr Fly-Navy.. Now, can,t you just visualise that floating around the skies of Worcesershire, pity the engine will be making the sound of a strangled cat.
  9. Well done Ted, pleased for you. Remember whatever happens in life the answer won't be found in the bottom of a glass. Keep strong.
  10. Bored my way through "They flew alone" on iplayer earlier Steve, plenty of Moths on there. Have you thought of modelling your plane on Amy's as a tribute to her Good news about the sunny weather today give you a chance to dry out a bit, bad news got to chuck it down tomorrow. Coming along nicely mate.
  11. Posted by Dwain Dibley. on 25/02/2017 10:44:45: I need to come and see the progress on the SE5A john, I assume you mean the one built by D.V.     No I meant my smaller Flair one Steve. The DV Hutson one has big scale u/ c permanently fixed, it's all done with new litho cowl etc and engine in just the one wing panel to finish. Edited By fly-navy on 26/02/2017 15:35:16
  12. Yes Steve, much the same. What I did with my Pup and SE5a though was silver solder the two down legs together with the axle free and running in an inverted "U" soldered on both legs with so Mick Reeves bungy retaining it to give a nice bit of suspension.
  13. Treated myself to another Laser yesterday, 150, got it home second flick and away it purred revs picked up nicely and back to tickover so smooth you could almost count the prop revs. 24 years old, I think they are on to a winner at Laser if they can keep up this standard of engineering John
  14. Nice to see you back in the workshop again Mr D. building to your usual standards I see Nice looking model, by the sound of it is the same arrangement as the Flair Scout series undercarriage. Give my love to Johnny.
  15. Thank you gents for all your informative replies. I removed the mech, retracts , cut out the wing to have the new electric ones fitted with the wheels and oleos raked back, filled in with blocks of foam and lined wheel wells with balsa and 1/4 ply for formers to hold retract rails, all very strong after mods with half the wheel proud of LE looking from above so hopefully raked forward enough. Put a Laser 75 in it to see how that goes on the ground and if there would be enough humph in it for rotation, got a Laser 80 standing by if not last resort is OS90. Thanks again guys, appreciated. Came to me FOC nice built model with panel lines and weathering so I can forgive the un scalelike ailerons. John
  16. Would anyone who has/had experience of this model be able to give me the C o G please? TIa John

  21. Took a flying visit today to inspect shed and pass it off before he set off doing some argey bargey sailing. Gents it's a thing of beauty and something most of us dream of or to aspire of owning, could not believe the size and space and how Ian has utilised it all, would you believe he wouldn't leave me on my ownsome in there I had deep pockets too. The cottage and grounds are delightful and that is another project for him, after the stableblock he renovated and lived in previously I thought that would be the end of those projects. Doesn't like life easy our master builder. Well done matey, stunning job
  22. Apologies Steve, should have known better. john
