  1. If I get a service I am not very happy with I will advertise the fact. I will also, however, praise a good service. After reading posts on here I thought my problem is ridiculous and fully appreciate why it was done. Having no joy with HK help on website I used the UK warehouse chat, my account was reactivated within 15mins, now that is service. Well done Hobby King UK, appreciated. Orders placed now wait patiently, albeit the Honky Fid one
  2. The problem is Erfolg I forgot my password and overdid the attempts to log in, this resulted in my account being disabled which is fair enough as a security precaution. To try and get it reinstated, open a new account however is another matter. I have had dealings with five different people and I do not think they understand, tell me to do things and the same "Requested account is disabled" comes up. God why do I need to bother with them, they seem to think now I want to unsubscribe to the newsletter Thought I would have a break today and knit some spaghetti, must say I was more successful. Useless bunch, the lot of them.
  3. Well trying to log in tonight about some oleo's I find my account has been disabled, why Lord only knows. Anyone point me to the guy on ebay who used to make to you request the oleo's of your choice please?
  4. Stunning mate, absolutely stunning do you ever sleep??? Now get your butt in there and lets have some more of your masterpieces off the board, oh hold on there's not room Those lights are a thing of beauty Ian, nice one.
  5. I too echo the sentiments of others on here re Paul's poor health, sincerely hope it improves in the future. I too felt privileged to watch his wonderful build, and methods, on here. It is fitting the model will be displayed for all to see the craftsmanship involved and tis a pity that one of the very skilled scale guys on here could not finish it for Paul.
  6. Now have the model and ready to go. Wanted to fit four stroke but existing mount would not let it go back far enough. Removed this and using existing holes to get centres and draw horiz and vert centre line. Using the new mount centre grooves on the back lined all up and drilled and fitted mount and engine so prop driver exited cowl by 3mms. However on fitting cowl, crankshaft is bang in centre of cowl but appears to be 1/4" low to model centre line,(According to cowl aperture). Will this throw up any adverse flight characteristics do you think? There is zero side or up down thrust. Thanks gents, John.
  7. After seeing an article how to make one on the "Cub Den" site I made one for an inverted Saito on a Cub. Basically some wire, switch, SubC battery and small micro switch which is operated from the throttle servo arm at just under 1/4 throttle. John
  8. Peter, I can do aerobatic's to please me, being over 70, 3D ain't my forte 😆 John
  9. Many thanks Pete, just read your reply in hotel room sorry for late response. What I meant about "Pig" was if I got C o G wrong and ended up tail heavy. Engine wise I have available, Irvine 53, Laser 75 and Laser 85 as well as the OS. Will see what cowl cut out is like when we get home and I collect model. John
  10. Posted by Bob Cotsford on 01/09/2016 15:59:08: I saw a DL on the BMFA classifieds last week, I think it was £85. I was tempted to buy it as a spare in case anything happens to mine. It's a lovely model with a 1.20 four stroke. Mine had 120 OS four stroke in Bob, lazy afternoon on tickler at height if you want or open up the taps whey heeyyyy First one I had was a kit built one bought from a guy in Redditch who was selling load of stuff, then bought this one untouched off Alan Cantwells gaffer. Now I've non. Edited By fly-navy on 01/09/2016 18:16:21

  12. Thank you for your replies guys, appreciated. Thank you Pete, as I said in o p I downloaded the manual that's where I got the 95mms from. Reason for the four strokes Pete is the weight for balance and sound. Bob next time I'm down Tard I'll sneak yours away,lol.£85 for DL, wish I had seen it, it would be in the loft now. All a bit academic at the moment as we are off to Cymaz land on the morrow, two weeks in Perran. 2 stone overweight seventy year old surfing, a sight to behold gents, a sight to behold. Clubmate is holding on to it till we return, only forty notes in lovely condition in pics. Edited By fly-navy on 01/09/2016 18:06:09
  13. We 'll I must confess to using this method for about eight years, never had a failure or problem yet and it is fitted to a dozen models. Now you lovely lot put doubt in my mind.
  14. It's not the money Cy, YT have discontinued them.
  15. Collecting one of these for a few beer tokens after our holidays. Googled the on-line manual and rec. C o G is 95mm from leading edge measured at wing tip. Reading some reports on this model it appears to be a bit of a pig if you get this wrong as it is severely tail heavy, so will use a C o G calculator and try and measure at the wing root . Has anyone any experience of this model please and if so can you remember the balance point? Plan to put Laser 85 or OS 91 FS up front, all this to replace the demise of my lovely Dragon Lady Edited By fly-navy on 01/09/2016 01:03:44
  16. I make my own remote connectors, 2.5mm audio jack plug from Maplins and female mating part. Glow plug end suitable spring soldered onto positive lead and heat shrink wrap, -ve to engine bolt between head and engine lugs. Drill fus side put body inside and locknut outside, nice tidy installation.
  17. I too was disappointed with the show, I do not mind the jets and thought the two youngsters from Horizon doing the syncro were worth the entrance fee as I thought they were brilliant, the warbirds and WW1 were missed by me and I waited all day for that delightful Tiger Moth to get airborne yesterday, sad thing about is it is the only show I may well visit this year due to madams holiday booking arrangements , she must do better!! Traders were ok got bit miffed with the charity buckets thrust under my nose every 20 yds, ignored them after I had donated to two of them.
  18. I have waited and waited and no one has mentioned my baby Fairey Firefly would be nice choice Mr W
  19. Is it safe to charge these batteries in the model, or is recommended to remove them?
  20. Welcome back matey, standard as per usual and loving every minute of it
  21. Now block your exhaust port with cotton free rag, same with the carb. port and give engine a good spray with some "Fairy Power Spray" leave soak for an hour or so old tooth brush give it a good scrubbing and then hose off with plenty of water, guarantee it come up like new. I also give all the innards a good soaking of two stroke oil prior to doing this then cover all the orifices before spraying with Fairy. HTH John H & S warning, wear a pair of Marigold gloves and eye protection is essential, and cover any bare skin up.
  22. Well Mr F, again you have triumphed, awesome modelling, knocked us all into a cocked hat mate.
  23. Posted by Bob Cotsford on 29/01/2016 14:17:57: I think my 4 gallons of Laser 5% will see me through to the show season , but it's reassuring I'll be able to stock up when I need to. Thanks Jon. Looks like Chris J might be busy at Long Marston then Bob John
  24. As others have said Andy, hardwood would be the choice. If you have a look on Cub Den there is a good article on there about mounting methods for struts which I copied and used on my Cub upgrade. HTH
