  1. Hi All. I have had no luck with training gear so I just take longer learning a new Helli when l think that I have mastered small low level flights I just get higher over the course of a few batteries and this sames to work for me mind you the height of the factory is only 30 ft or so and if I fly out side that is in the Carm winds I do not fly much higher so there is little risk of losing radio contact. happy hovering Owen.
  2. hi Eric. The FMS is a good sim much better than the one they gave away with the mag I find it a bit to good on some points like the trees have branches you cant see and the heli all ways crashes if you are below hafe stick and this allways gets you a boom strick as you say it takes some getting us to but I still like flying it if all alse fails some times I put the camera on follow and fly it as if I were in the heli follwing it and then I go out of range and the heli goes wild in to negative flyte and spins and sumersults all over the place all good fun and keeps me out of mischef. sim fantastic Owen.
  3. Hi Phil. I to have a flyt sim, but find the sim has not tort me to fly eny faster, as the real thing do' s not fly in the same way as the heli in the sim, so I try to get as much real life flying as I can, and if eny thing has got me to the point Iam at now it is the CX heli, so I will not ever part with my Robins 22 this is the one heli that keeps me on track. happy hovering Owen.
  4. Hi Kevin. I bent a tale boom and this is quite a long job but teaches you a lot as to how it all works, luck was in for me as I fund a steel bar whitch fitted down the tale tub and I got it back to being stait and the dent out of it so are still flying on the ariginal one this is on a Walkera 60b but thes things are just sent to try us and make life a little more intresting, as for servos I have replaced the hole lot with esky ones as I riped of some teeth in two of them I got 4 of the net for £10 including postage from HK so its not all bad. happy building Owen.
  5. Hi Kevin. This sounds like my average day the Cx is all ways there to pick up on and make me feal sane again so just keep on enjoying the heli that is the one that flys well. And may be the rest will get there in the end it is a long road that has meny bends.  .
  6. Hi Kevin. Sorry to here the bad news and hope all the bits come nice and kick as there is no time to wast in the flying calendar so keep us up to date on you progress as I have thought of getting a Blade 400 in the future my self. happy hovering with the CX Owen.
  7. Hi Erfolg. The CX heli is the long lasting anser to long turm flying pleasure, as out of all my four heli's this is the one I keep on coming back to total control and all  round entertainment. Happy hovering Owen.
  8. Hi Kevin. I to fly on smooth concrete factory flores, but find grass and tarmac are deadly it you catch your blades on the ground so much can go wrong so I try to get all my setting up dun on a smooth level surface to get me started and then I can hover nice and square on the less smooth ground. happy hovering Owen.
  9. Hi Kevin. You sound like you are going down the same road as me but as I found to my cost the carbon blades are good and strong, but in stead of chiping they take out other parts that are more costly so what I have fund is to stick with the wooden blades but cover them in parcil tape the thin plastic selotape type stuf, and this stops them chiping, and makes them lest lots longer will you are learning. good luck Owen.
  10. Hi all. This is what I found out of the web but I have not found out about one for model hali's.
  11. Hi Phil. I will have to find out more about this function as my WAlkera has trotle hold this sounds like a long lasting thread. Owen.
  12. Hi Phil. I have not come across Head spead governors But this sounds like trotle hold for use in three dee flying I have never tried the dreded switch my self but if you are about to crash and do not get it switched of in time the heli gets smashed to a pulp so I think I will leav it to the brave harts. happy hovering Owen.
  13. Hi Kevin. You are so wright this has been a nightmair as if I was at work I would have flowen at lest three or four times but in stead stuck in doors, never mind back out to play tomorow. happy hovering Owen.
  14. Hi All. I have now got  the standard replacement Walkera motor but it is not as powerfull as the 180 motor that I was using on the helli for the temp so I may go back to the 180 motor.  happy hovering Owen.
  15. Hi Alen. On the Walkera 60 the tail rotor seaes so close to the ground that I have been tempted to put some spacers on the top of the under carraige to get the tail further away from the ground wether this would make it more prone to tipping over I have no idear but may be its werth a go. happy building Owen.
  16. Hi JohnH. Iam wishing their is a club near me that had that type of evening as all my flying is dun at work in the factory indoors for my Robins 22 and on the small grass medow nexed to the factory for my biger helli so maybe I need to start my own. happy hovering Owen.
  17. Hi Phil. Yes ditch the plastic bitts and bring on the ali you wont look back.
  18. Hi all. No were your are come from when I had the old plastic swash plate I ended up gluing it with super glue to stop it falling apart and kiling its self. happy days Owen.
  19. Hi Alen. That was a lot better than a lot of the vid that I see on the tube, as for the image quality these little cams are fixed focus are they not, so like the phone cams you get what you get good on you for giving use this in site to your flying in the cold, what I would like to now is how you get of so quickly on long grass, as all I ever seam to do is a lot of strimming and mowing.
  20. Hi all. Back again the Walkera 52 is so smooth to fly its like a large Moth very quite and responsive when pushed to the high alts, it loves to tack of with lots of stick and even more so if the shaft retaining collar on the main shaft comes lose, so this is a point to keep an eye on the little Helli has given me hours of fun, the worst thing that has happened to it is the main motor  failed, but this was so cheap to replace that I really do not have any room to complain the other thin I find is the foam blades or very easy to damage as I some times brush the grass and plant with them and to over come the problem I have fund the big rolls of packing tape," that is the thin type stuff " if used to cover the blades makes them last much longer, This tape duse come in different colours so makes the blades more visible. happy hovering Owen.
  21. Hi all. The One thing that has plaged my Walkera 60b is the tendance for cracks to apper in the ali frames that hold every thing to getter I could not find a reason for this but put it down to pore material used in the first place and dicided to make my own parts to replace this part of the frame as it was very close to the brushless motor and every time it craked it took the teeth of the main gear and motor gear so was getting costly I have now got a set up for cutting new teeth on the main gear and are making new motor brass gears, since I have dun this mod it has not failed yet so hopfully this is a end to all the run of brak downs I have gone through in the last to weeks.
  22. Hi all. Since I have dun meny flytes since the upgade I stated to get more and more uncontroled flying and landing at fist it was fine so I took a good look round all the parts of the blade holders and found to my dis may that the top blade holder had worn the holes and the brass pins away to suttch a exstent that  the blades were now out of track with each other so I driled out the pin and made a biger one this has solved the problem and it is now hovering hands of so this is worth keeping an eye out for maybe a little drop of oil on the moving parts would have stoped this in the first place. happy hovering Owen.
  23. Hi Brain. I have a Walkera 60b and the full rotor speed should be reached at half throtel and the pitch should be + 5 to 6 degres and this is for normal flying and should be at the point of the hover. this is best dun with a pitch gage hope this is of some help as every one has there own way of setting this up and will proberly say some thing diffrent. happy hovering Owen.
  24. Hi Kevin. I think a lot of the flying thing is learning the tx as these little boxe's are quite a hand full in the rong hands so to learn the sticks is a meger part of it and will leave you in good stead for the more advanced tx's as the channels in creas I will look fullward to more as to how you get on with the blade in the fucher. good luck Owen.
  25. Hi Phil. The ali bits are good and doo make the heli fly very stable and also stop the fly bar from flying off every now and then the place to look is esky-helicopters.com or the HK shops on ebay the cost is very low and the flying is much beter. happy flying Owen.
