  1. Hi Kevin This is my first time with 2.4 ghz so hope its not my last I have heard good and gad on the new tx's so wait in anticipation as to how its going to be but that's the fun of it see how it goes. happy days Owen.
  2. Hi all I have just spotted a Walkera 38 on Ebay going for £120 notes, and it is comming in from Xstream Heli of Irland, and is slitly marked so hence the good price, this is going to be my crimbo present to my self, as I have been looking at these on Youtub, since they came on the market a few weeks ago, and fallen in love with the look and size of this large tandum tx heli.  It sounds like a realy nice model, and apears to fly well in the open on carm days, so I am waiting in antispation for the postie to nock on the door on Tusday or Wensday, and to open the big box, it is always a unknowen pleasure, and then to doing all the pre flyt cheeks, and that first hover, these are all the thing that realy make this hobby that little bit more speacial, than other intrests that I follow. Any way thats anouth of my drewling, if any one else is getting one of these, and wants to have a natter about how they are getting on with it good or bad, we all like to here your comments and I look fullward to reading them. happy waiting Owen.
  3. Hi Alen Aunt these just the most amazing little heli's around we must be so lucky to be living in these times of electronic wizardry who needs 3d when there is so much fun to be had with one of these. happy hovering Owen.
  4. Hi all I have just gone through a similar problem with my esky Robins 22, and all I did was to fit a set of xtreme blades, and the red lite was on most of the flyte and like you said only half the flying time, and it turns out to be the pitch adjuster on the top blades that needs to be set up, to make sore that when the fly bar is leavel, that the blade angle is the same as the bottom set, and then all was back to normal, hope this is the same problem, and not some electronic issue, hope this is of some help. long and happy hovering Owen.
  5. Hi all I had a word with the boss at work, and he said that the local motor makers in the town, broke some sort of record with a Sinclair C5, and that they got it to do over 30 mph, sounds a bit fast to me, but maybe its true. good for a laff Owen.
  6. Hi all The thing I find is that if its above head hight hanging on bitts of sring it seams to get un noticed, well the cobwebs seam to get away with it, so it must be a formula that works try putting your model board on small pully blocks, like her wash frame over the bath when you need to work on it let it down on to a table, then hoist it up when not in use, you can always paint the under side the same colur as the ceiling, so it blends in you may get away with it, se if you can dodge the flack.  Just keep on ducking and diving Owen.
  7. Hi all We all may need the help of the diffrent emergency services at one time or another, and they all have to use radio to get around, so the very idear that they have to pay for there radio licences totaly makes my blood boil, and that the goverment is still ripping of thr very people that it is surposed to be helping, as these volenters are saving them trom having to be derectly responsible for, and I no that ambulances do not pay road tax, so to pay for radio use is just a total no no.  good here isent it Owen.
  8. Hi all Ma be they are thinking that the DX7 is for the more advanced flyer not the newbie, just lack of thought. happy days Owen.
  9. Hi Phil's My mises thinks its a kool hot rod
  10. Hi all I have just been on holiday from work for a week, and I sore an idear for a green cycle trailer for my mountain bike on the internet, so I thought I would have a go at making one in my garage, the concept of the trailer is that it is a means of powering the bike along useing a electric motor and a 12 volt battery so the bike is as normal but the trailer duse the pushing, and it seams to work very well. I was lucky to have a pair of aly B M X wheels and tyres in my colection of junk so this was the starting point of the hole thing, also I had a leasure  battery from my caravan siting around, I had two or three diffrent electric motors nocking around so the bits and bobs where coming to gether I am a welder by trade so as I tend to work in aley most of the time Ive made the chasse out of aley, and the box out of some black 5 mm lexin poly carbin sheet, that my good lady got me from work some years back, so the trailer is born and works just fine I can now take my heli's to work and back each day and not have to go the sort distance in my gas gusler, and stop adding my little bit of Co2 to the planet, the one thing that has come out of this is the electric motor, I use was from a hotpiont washin machien and was ment to run on ac 240 volts but with a bit of jugling about, I fund it would run on 12 volts dc, if I just put the power to the brushes only, and if there is any one out there who knows how dc motors should run this way,it is a bit stange but it seams to have just the right amount of power and a nice soft start so all you need to do is jently peedel and the motor backs you up. free wheel Owen.
  11. Hi Flanker. I have got a Hitec and it is made to a higher standard than the included tx's, but it is getting old now, and has served me well for over twenty years, so I will see if these cheaper sets last as long probably not ,but when you are looking at such low prices dues it really matter, if you do not need the included gear it sells very we on EBay or the net. good luck Owen.
  12. Hi all I have been looking at the walkera site, and it seam's that they have just started to bring out all 2.4gh gear on most of there heli's, and have also come out with a bigger version of the sky lift twin rotor, and the price is lower than eflights, so as it has got all the metal bits as wall, it makes it very attractive, as maybe my next heli. happy hovering Owen.
  13. Hi all I have just read this and the thing is are we starting to see the use of lead free solder, as I had a wire come of on one of my packs, and even Theo it was soldered to a small printed circuit board it was quite difficult to re solder. soldering is fun Owen.
  14. Hi Paul I seam to get the impression that nims take time to become fully active and then don't need to be charged quite so long. I don't no weather this is a standard thing or not. good luck Owen.
  15. Hi all We are all on a volt hunt, when we should realy be conserned about current, eletrikery is most of the time about energy and a 1.5 volt drop is still quite ok on most tx's, so no need to be conserned. volts x amps = watts Owen.
  16. Hi Jack There is a mixed view on recharging alcs I have one made by Rayovac, but you only get about 8 to 10 recharges, then they do not have any currant only volts so limited success in my case. All charged up Owen.
  17. Hi all I like the idear of a tx that is kept for each model, and lets face it you can get the heli's as kits witch means basic heli only so you can put you own rx and tx on it, all the on line sites sell them, but this is a more expensive way to bi, but gives you choice, but I have had no complaints with the tx's that came with my heli's to date. The choice is yours Owen.
  18. hi Alen I have used this tape to save my life more than once good stuff. not so stuck up Owen.
  19. hi Steve This is a common thing that happens to the cx helis the blades are a bit prone to getting bent and if you put a strip of glass reinforced sticky tape over the leading edge of the blade it makes them less prone to damage and stiffens them up and also improves lift I have made a set last over six months by doing this as they will not brake so easy. Robins 22 the best Owen.
  20. Hi Keith. Thanks Eric you are more up with names than me, yes deans sounds like it, and I to use nims in my 27 mh sets, but the thing I find is the volt drop is very rapid, so lipos are better in this sence, and you can use just one charger, and coming back to the wire you can just solder it in there precent location, hope this is more clear as I am not the best at putting things over. good luck Owen.
  21. Hi Keith. I Had to try and sort this out for you. I have converted all my tx's to lipos. I have soldered on a new wire's and a t plug, on the end battery terminals were you can see the red and black wire going to, and with a 1000 mah 11.2v 3sel lipo you get a cople of hours flying to the charge so quite a good and esy way to get away from the AA perils by the way the the lipo is just held in place with tap or a large alastic band.you can normaly recharge the lipo in about an hour when needed hope this is of some help. keep it green Owen.
  22. Hi David This is a nomal thing all ways drop the rota speed quite slowly. I get the same thing on both of my 3d helis. Happy hovering Owen.
  23. Hi David Yes I did mean the throttle at the lowest point and try the servo strate in the Rx with out the gyro just to check it works ok. good luck Owen.
  24. Hi John Glad to be of some help.
