Hi Allan and all. I have been building a Minnie 1 inch scale Traction engine since 1967 and only dun about one third of it, If I could only find those blessed drawings under all that junk. I mite one day see it steam. keep the pecker up Owen.
  2. Hi all. I am back from my hols now and full of the joy's of autumn and this sort of idear is just what keeps me on full song, in theory put a battery drill on one brushless shaft connect the three wires to another brush-less and hay presto the second one dues the same as the first one in reves but dose it work in real time. I haven't got two identical motors, other wise I would have tryed it by now, but food for thought. keep them comming Owen.
  3. Hi John. Your thread has answered a question I have been asking my self for some time wot is the the point of a gyro that dues not have heading lock on it, as I am in the same place as you, and are stuck with the basic Esky gyro and the slightest wind the thing spins like a top, so it seames I will have to spend some more and up grade to heading hold gyro, and that means another spare part to kick around the junk room. happy days Owen.
  4. Hi Derek. I think you need silver steel as s/s is often to soft and will bend and this can be obtained at the Buck and Hickman web site one-online.com or at a tool room supplier who sells taps drills dies cutters est., Hope this is of some help Owen.
  5. Hi Hari. There is a big Cx2 following on this forum, so if you re post it on the cx one be low this one you will get all the help you need, hope this will get you flying. happy hovering Owen
  6. Hi Gemma. I fitted the up grades to my Robins 22 and had the same thing, It is dew to the little link on the top blades, as this has to be made longer by a turn or two to give them more pitch and the power will be back to normal. good luck Owen.
  7. Hi Kelvin. You are a man of my realm as I just love to fly this way in my local field and try to land in the long grass with out doing to much mowing and striming the grass is about three feet tall at the moment so it is a  bit of a challenge. happy days Owen.
  8. Hi Kit. This sounds interesting I have not come across any control line auto giros, but I am shore with all the micro radio gear there is out there you will have no prob's getting it converted to r c. I will keep an eye on this to see if you have any luck with the project. happy building Owen.
  9. Hi Dave. This sounds like my early days, you need to adjust the servo links so the swash plate is level and it hovers level and still, and when you turn keep the Helli flying full ward and and use ruder only and give it a little more throttle to make it tip slightly rarther than using the aileron stick as this will stop the blades hitting each other. this may help. get hovering Owen.
  10. Hi all. i new there was something else I was meant to do at work they have got so used to me flying no one seams to care. happy days Owen.
  11. Hi all. I am so lucky, as I have a 1 acer meadow next to the factory where I work and can fly in side or out, subject to the wind and weather, and also there is a five acer set- a -side Field just across the road from my house suitable for hand launching so I think I must be blessed. free as a bird Owen.
  12. Hi dave. The Cx heli's are best set up in doors, and then you can fly in still air out side, but come of the ground with a good amount of stick as the ground affect can be a misleading, and the tail will shift to one side if the giro has to much gain set on it and the other pot on the Rx 4 in 1 will balance the yawl of the tail, but the tail should be still at about 6 ft of the ground and hover level if it side slips or goes forward or backward the swash plate needs leveling. I hope this is of some use to getting it to fly. happy hovering Owen.
  13. Hi ben This is one of the things that has stopped me going for one, as I do all my flying in a factory and that sort of rota would be out of the question but I think it could bee scaled down to half that size it may be possible to go electric, who knows. happy builder Owen.
  14. Hi Kit. I to have been tempted to try an auto giro, and for what it is worth the reason they go for ic is more a power to weight thing, as they are a bit power hungry, as the full ward flit gives them lift so it seams, there is a lot of stuff on the net about the way they fly and ideas, so maybe this will give you a starting block to build on, and the chance to build an electric power one is no out of the question as I have seen the odd one or two flying very well, hope this gives you some help as there is quite a few of them about. good luck Owen.
  15. Hi Eric. We have been lucky so far this year, not to many so far, but no doubt the wurst is yet to come. I try not to think about them, as I have a bad reaction to stings. bee good Owen.
  16. Hi all. We have had them in our shed, with the garden tools, and in the loft, if you get rid of the nest they will come back next year, but if you leave the nest alone they stay away from that spot,. may bee this is to stop the spread of disease from one nest to another, hoo knows. buzz of Owen.
  17. Hi Kevin. The only other thing I failed to think of was a servo not working rite, how is the hovering hope all is well. cx2 are great Owen.
  18. Hi Sean. This sounds like the fly bar is on wrong, as if you look down on the Helli the fly bar should be trailing away from the leading edge of the blades, this may help but also see if the swash plate is level when all the controls are at rest, hope this is some help if not get back to me. good luck Owen.
  19. Hi Edmund. I to am very lucky as my Misses lets me get my own toys and she by hers so we get no real friction and we have been together 21 years so on a simular wave lenth to you nice to chat and hope you get you preasent as soon as poss. nice one Owen.
  20. Hi Mike. I am a member of a gliding club, and they have a strong model club on the site. and the two seam to fit in very well as the model club flies at times when the gliders are not flying. It pays to ask as they can only say no. happy flying Owen.
  21. Hi all. I have lisend to the noise and this is my two peneth worth, the fact that you are shuting the throtle quickley then the motor sends volts back to the speed controler and will be dischargeg in the speed controler this should be avoided as it could cause damage and as for any other noise this is just prop noise this will not be heard if the model is in the air.  let it fly Owen.
  22. Hi Terry. The old clechee swings and rounder bouts is coming to mind, go for a lower weight Lipo and the lower power motor and so on and the weight saved will come back in less drag so it not always the best thing to go for the most power full battery and the higher powered motors liter is best. Hope this gives you some help and peace of mind. Happy Building Owen.
  23. Hi all. The noise sounds a bit like it mite be a bearing cage and with the higher reeves will go away when the C of G in the bearing takes over had this happen to me in the past. hope you find out soon Owen.
  24. Hi Terence. You are not alone in your thinking this is a common problem It you make a lead or wire longer the best way to go is larger, rather than the small battery leads as the bigger the better as the power flows beter, and there is less heat and less votage drop in a larger wire. If you can start the larger wire as near to the battery pack as possibl, this will help to keep the heat down to the lowest level possibl and give you maximum out put. Maximum power Owen.
  25. Hi Edmund. I tend to work on this basis, and I had my one very early this year as when I won the Sea Fury. I came to a pact with her in doors as the Parts, motor, and tx would be my early chrimbo present to my self, as we always pick our own presents, and get each other something small on the day, just as a token to open. happy hunting Owen.
