  1. My material of choice is for canopies is PETG sheet. A Google search for that should provide a fair amount of choice. For example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLEAR-PETG-Sheets-1250mm-by-2050mm-Cut-to-Size-All-Thickness-PLASTIC-SHEETS-/201518059054?var=&hash=item2eeb698e2e:m:mPCsatOvbpdjiH9jhSJ4D_g http://www.plasticstockist.com/PETG-Sheet.aspx https://www.simplyplastics.com/catalog/sheet/petg-sheet/clear-petg-sheet/c-24/c-89/p-254 As it is widely used you may even find someone able to cut to size locally and save delivery. Hope this helps. Richard
  2. Jez, they can do reasonable curves, possibly 100mm diameter or so. It is a bit fiddly but with a bit of care they work OK. Richard
  3. Posted by Richard Norman on 13/09/2015 11:20:10: [snip]..... a good thing to add to your 'piking' arsenal are [/snip] OK, I meant 'pinking', not 'piking' Damn spell checkers! Richard
  4. Jez, a good thing to add to your 'piking' arsenal are some of these http://factory.dhgate.com/product/morn-sun-scrapbooking-rotary-paper-trimmer-5-cutters-easy-cut-p842003.html Designed to be used on a special bed / ruler, they work fine freehand against a metal ruler, or on curves. Perhaps not as sharp a cut as your pinking shears but may be useful? Richard
  5. Hi, I'm using 2.0.15 variant 216 and have not seen that behaviour. I don't have it calling minutes but do have it calling rate changes, U/C up and down etc. so it does a fair bit of 'talking' each flight! Hope you can identify the problem. Richard
  6. My concern is not so much engine ingestion as it is a large drone, complete with DSLR, going through the windscreen of an airliner on finals. I know that the screens are designed to provide some protection against birdstrike but a large metallic object would be a very different type of impact.
  7. My list is: LysanderStorchWhirlwindHurricane Richard
  8. Peter,  Would you be able to send me a copy of the build manual as well, please? I've just been given a set of the original plans for the Precedent Stampe. They look like 1970s vintage and I've had to use quite a bit of magic tape to make them useable! I'm in South Africa so an electronic copy would probably be easiest or I'm happy to reimburse you postage if you post them to my old UK address they'll be redirected to me by Royal Mail.  I really would appreciate any help you can give - email is richard at flying-models.org (please replace the 'at' with the @)  Also, the plans I have don't show all the wing ribs - anyone have profiles of these by any chance? If not I'll probably do them in Profili using a conservative flat-bottomed section. Thanks.  Richard
