  1. Here's some nostalgia older ones will remember!. These are all Genuine Veron and I have several of each.
  2. Hi Robert, just to give you some encouragement to fly your Beau here's some photos of my Flair Beau. I know how you feel about first flights and varous other things associated with flying but i'm sure yours will just as good if not better than mine to fly. these photos are first flight it was just a great big pussy cat. Beaus look great in the air, especially in attack mode, diving in and flying low and fast across the target. Good luck i'm sure it will fly as good as it looks. Brian
  3. I to have one off these kits which I built and flown successfully. I used fishing trace for all of the wiring of surfaces. I also did away with the tail mounted servo and used a servo under the engine to operate the rudder and mounted a servo in the cockpit to operate the elevator as per full size using the using the outsize arms to push/pull the cable. It is noisy the site i use is very strict and they were not happy about the take off noise, but not to bad poodling around.
  4. Well the Sabre is finished and ready for flight, just waiting for a good opportunity. If it fly's like the FD2 it will be a dream. Also in photo is a Veron FW190 control line model built from kit using the original pieces as template (so keeping original kit intact) for a friend of mine.
  5. Very sorry to hear about your illness, hope the pain can be alleviated  in the very near future. Edited By sharpy1071 on 09/03/2016 08:58:02
  6. I had the good fortune to know the late Phil Smith. When he passed I manage to have a few of his things among them were some test kits. I built a radio controlled FD2 from his free flight plans a few years back and it was very successful. So looking through this pile of wood was 6 test kits of his NA86 Sabre free flight. So I have decide to radio control it and build in depron/ balsa with a tractor motor, using a spinner to make it look like a NA86D. The FD2 was noisy as it was a pusher so I opted tractor for the NA86. I also built his LA9 but placing the battery in a ducted fan layout was a pain. So again I went prop for the NA86 as opposed to Ducted fan. If there is any interest in this I will carry on posting.
  7. I hope the mods aren't upset with this being put on this forum. We are a established club which has now got full planning permission to fly model aeroplanes, electric only or gliders. Having obtained PP we can now take a few more members without the danger of loosing the field. The field is a few miles North of Ringwood, Hants. The facilities include a separate safe car park next to the pits, two runways, a small lake (pond) for water take offs, ducted fan welcome with an on site ramp and a 3 sided shelter with seats. The subs run from April 1st to March 31st each year and are £66.00 the member has to supply evidence of Insurance. Any enquiries to Estate Office, Summerley House or Darren on 07749 187085 for further info or arrange a site visit Edited By sharpy1071 on 18/01/2016 19:26:15
  8. Yep couldn't agree more. Spectrum 6i packed up due to broken aerial and a circuit board gone. Repaired free of charge no questions asked brilliant. would always recommend them. Thank you Horizon Hobbies.
  9. My trims have all packed up at some time on my FF8. Ripmax told me to use switch cleaner and and GENTLE air pressure to clean the carbon of off the contacts inside the radio, no need to take it apart. It has worked for me every time.
