  1. I use fleece gloves. I cut the thumbs on the gloves so I can poke the last joint of the thumbs on my hands out. Graham
  2. Can you improve the level of insulation? Loftspace is usually straightforward. Walls are a bit harder / more expensive to insulate but the window can be tackled with heavy curtains or better, internal panels of Kingspan or similar. OK, you'd lose the natural light, but its dark most of the time in winter anyway. Graham
  3. Multiplex user and yes. I have about half a dozen Rx's and slightly fewer flyable models, so I rarely need to buy any. Graham Edited By Graham Bowers on 25/09/2014 07:55:19
  4. I've used these guys several times for motorcycle engine work and would do so again. If it's possible, I'm sure they would be able to do it. They are in Kegworth so not too far for you. Graham http://www.sep-kegworth.co.uk/page1.htm
  5. Before chucking money at it, perhaps its worth operating the engines experimentally with manual throttle control - a bit of wire for example - to get a feel for what response may be possible. Videoing with a digital, camera could allow some rough and ready response numbers to be generated. Graham
  6. Posted by Budgie Daz on 22/07/2014 10:59:08: I will also need a good photoshop type programme for the W8 laptop, any recommendations? Free would be good, but otherwise not mega expensive please, lol. GIMP, open source and free. http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ The link for Windoze is half way down the page. Tutorials are available, google for them. Cheers Graham
  7. Daz Have you used pixelpeeper? http://www.pixel-peeper.com/ You can access photos taken with lens and body combinations so you can get some idea of the results obtainable. There are 76 images with your body and the Canon 70-300 f4-5.6, not sure about the IS. I tend to stick to Canon lenses, so can't comment on 3rd party offerings. Graham
  8. I have no experience of them, but did not get a security warning when I accessed their website. No sure if that helps, but its a data point. I am using firefox and linux mint. Graham
  9. Posted by Paul Millard 1 on 01/04/2014 19:26:22: Instead Windows 7-8 have you tried Linux? For the past ten years I've used Ubuntu because it just works all the time and every things free. The only use I have for Windows is Compufoil and CAD software other wise Microsoft know where they can stick it. Paul I've been on Linux for about that long, formerly Ubuntu and now Linux Mint. I have Windoze 7 for gaming. Have you tried any of the CAD packages for Linux, and if so, how does TotalCAD compare?? I have just started to evaluate FreeCAD, Libre CAD and BRL-CAD. Perhaps evaluate is gilding the lily a bit - having no CAD experience I am blundering around trying to see if I can do what I think I'd like to. Its fun learning new stuff though. Graham
