  1. Hi Ron, I’m thinking this would make a good autumn, winter project if you don’t do the business first. If I do put a new one together, don’t be cross but, I’ll be converting it to ? electric. ?????possibly !
  2. If you have a copy of the Stuntman by Bowmans models plan, I could borrow / copy, or if you have one to sell. Please drop me a message. Thank you

  4. Hi Ron, It sounds like the airframe has seen its best days, although there is the temptation to have a go. It's sad I know, but it always pains me to see an airframe come to the end of its life, even when I know it had it. As Piers points out it could still have use as a paten and the wing looks complete, so I am tempted to take it off you at some point if you're happy to hold on to it until a bit later in the year. S Wales is less than a couple of hrs up the M4 from me, so not imposable to do when I have free time later. What would be good is if somewhere somebody still had a copy of the original plans, and they haven't faded out!. I've not come across any yet or very much about the stuntman at all come to that.
  5. Yer I had read that somewhere, but didn’t know any details about the case.
  6. She looks like she been well loved. I must admit Id never seen one in the flesh before, it has a bit of a slec funny look to it. So big question what what are thinking of doing with her?
  7. Is your tank pressurised from the exhaust, not a problem from that side? Blocked nippel or kinks in the tube sealing the tank vent.
  8. Finally managed to get up the field just before sun set with my youngest & a camera, unfortunately it was very blustery like your flight Ron, but we managed to get a few shots.
  9. Re the flight time, two ways to see how much your taking out the packs 1/ make a note fo how much charge your charger puts back each time, and gage it against your flight times. Bit long winded and no instant results. 2/ Do you have a good quality battery checker. Check the voltage after every flight, a good multipurpose checkers will tell you the percentage used, you can also use them to tell you your power/current draw. Not expensive these day and worth there wait in gold. Always use one to check pack charge state before flight. Second pack always a good idea I’m assuming it’s in the order of a 2200 3cell. Talk to George about battery checkers he’s been at this game a very very long time. https://www.4-max.co.uk/gt-lipo-capacity-tester.htm
  10. Good to hear the gyro did the trick for the ROG, would like to give it ago but I can only hand launch due to deep moss, small wheels and big spats! It’s surprising how well they handle windy conditions.
  11. Soarcerette. 34.5” Span 2 ch Miniature Slope Soarer. Continuing my nostalgia theme of late here is my latest. Built from a FEB 86 Radio Modeller plan by Mr P Startup, It’s a 2/3 size version of the Dave Hughes Soarcerer (RM Oct 69). It needed to be a small model, ideal to keep (hide) in the car to take away any time for impromptu flying. I’ve added a small power pod for flat field operations, also split the wing in two parts (easier storage) & added ailerons. All materials i.e. balsa, ply & coverings have come out of my off cuts box. Now just need a chance to give it a go!
  12. Look's sweet in the sunlight David, Them's some big rocks in your pit's, I can see why you band your gear on!, hope the rest of your strip is a bit more forgiving. ?
  13. Can't believe the price this Sailman kit just made on E-Bay £151 ? Anyone still got a Bowman kit in the loft? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bowman-Models-Simple-Sailman-High-Performance-R-C-Sailplane-Glider-Kit-110-/154392075037?nma=true&si=24%2Bd9ZiAlssqGDNW4x0Bz0gCofQ%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  14. I hope now your flying sites have reopened and the weather is good? you're all getting the opportunity to enjoy some flying again. Reminder; I’m putting together an article about the Spatman within the context of our forum, plan sharing & the model building community for the RCM&E, I would very much like to include pictures of as many of the finished models as possible to illustrate it. If you would like to be involved & would like to see your Spatman in the Magazine, please message me from the forum & attach a copy of them there. The pictures will need to be a nice shot of the model, well focussed and at least 1MB in size to use in print. Please include a few details about yours model, like what make it unique, motor used, you name etc.. Enjoy the good weather, stay safe & don’t forget to take a camera! ??️
  15. I had the same with the Spatman the plans evaporat over the years! Thinking of having a go at the skyman myself as I've a bee looking for a home. See the link in Kevin B post.
  16. Over the last couple of years I've found myself back building a couple of old Bowman Model Kits from my past. This has started an interest in their range of models & preserving as many of the plan as possible. I now have several Plans & a kit lining up for their turn on my building board to keep me busy! In order to keep track of what I have I started a list, this has now expanded into a fall on list of all the information I have on Bowman Model Kits range. It's not a complete list by any means. A few of their kit plans are now on a couple of the sharing sites & Sarik Hobbies. I thought I would share it. I'd love to add any information you guys may have, or if you see something I've got wrong, that to. Furthermore, I would also like to know a little more about the company, I remember some of their history form back in the day, but it would be great to find out more. My Fleet so far! 17. Hi Gary, ? I will be watching your build with great interest, I have the same kit in the loft waiting it turn! I've far to many on the go to even think about starting it yet. Love your post so far, great pictures keep them coming ?
  18. Interesting read. My setups is very similar to what your all using, my heat source is a secondhand baby bellini cooker. Small enough to live in the garage, with oven door closed plastic heats up nicely all over.
  19. Piers, I also email Derek yesterday same topic, same answer.?
  20. Gentlemen, I have written an article from the context of our spatman thread, about forums, plan sharing & the model building community for the RCM&E, which should appear in the later part of the year. It would be great to include some of your photos of finished models alongside. If you would like to be involved & to see your Spatman in the Mag, please message me in the forum & attach a copy of them there. The pictures need to be well focussed and over 1MB to use in print, include some details about yours as well. No immediate rush, but the sooner I have them then the sooner I can forward them on. Hopefully after Monday we may get an idea when we can return to flying, fingers crossed. ?
  21. Hi Ron, we seem to have some very similar models in our fleets. The first time I saw a Sinbad kit I had to buy one. It would be interesting to see how the anglewing kit compares to the Retro RC version I’ve built a couple of years ago apart from it a tad smaller. Definitely going to put one of the anglewing kits on my birthday list.
