  1. Thanks Pete, on the origional prop the aircraft went vertical so was run at half throttle for a very steep climb. I cannot remember the amps pulled but must have been well below the ESC of 80 amps or I would have used a bigger one. I will obtain a 13x6.5 and give it a try. The model is very heavy but flies very well and is strongly built. I appreciate your reply.
  2. Have just lost the prop on my R2Hobbies gliderman which I bought as a complete package. Their web site says 12x13 which seems strange. Can anyone suggest a replacement please.
  3. Much earlier on in this thread there was a discussion about the purpose of the window at the base of the fin. I have located a cutaway drawing published in Flight magazine that shows inside a set of balance weights that are round and approximatly 9" diameter. They look as though they may be counterbalancing the moving tail or maybe just altering the CofG. Further to this on the right hand side adjacent to the fuel tank (at the CofG ?) are three rods called balance weight pegs. As these are on the CofG I surmise they could be interchanged with those at the back perhaps if no crew is carried in the back seat? Just thought you might be interested.
  4. I am having trouble wireing the wings! 2xservo's and nav. lights. Can someone suggest a suitable way of doing this? The ideal would be a multi plug fixed to the wing root and to a ply plate between the carbon spars but all the plugs I have tried from the glider community are too tight to get apart . Any help would be appreciated.
  5. For me it has to be: VC 10,  Hunter T7,  1A-58 Pucara,   not necessarily in that order?
  6. Thank you both,Having seen your ideas I am going to chamfer the trailing edge of the wing as well as the flap and also inset the robart hinge into the flap to get a greater clearance when the flap moves down. Many thanks guys.Keith. Mario your English is fine but your drawings better!
  7. Hi all!Back to the flaps. The way that TN has them shaped and hinged will not allow them to be used as flaps as there is insufficient angle. At best they will only increase lift with a little increase in drag. How do I hinge them to get  them to lower to an angle of around 50 degrees or more? I was proposing to use mini robarts and I wish to keep the top edge flush with the trailing edge when up. Keith.
  8. Hi all,About to sheet the wings. Is it possible to sheet the top and bottom with one sheet?ie one sheet for top etc with no joins. A trial fit says it will but I do not want to start only to find it will not. Help please!
  9. Thank you Terry and John,Looked at Mackays of Cambridge but could not understand their website so will have to ring them on Monday. Will get back to you John if I have no luck. Apart for the U/C and a bit of skinning the Fuse is complete and today I have just joined the two wing halves together so still a fair way to go. Watch this space!
  10. Hi Team,Have been following this build blog whilst building my Lysander and have failed to locate a supply of 3mm Aluminium for the undercarriage despite contacting all the fabricators in the Gloucester area. Can anyone help me please? Information gleaned from others contributions have been invaluable so far but as this is my most ambitious build I am afraid I have little to contribute. Many thanks.
