    Bargain or not!?

Hi Garny, I live in Hornsea and have only had experience of the Beverley Club, seem like a nice bunch of chaps.I generally fly in a field up the road from me or off one of the cliffs(I generally fly slope and electric gliders) that we are lucky enough to have 5 minute stroll from my house. Cheers Rob.

    Bargain or not!?

Hi Garny, If you have a look on the BMFA website it gives you contact details for the Roos and district club, also I know there are a few clubs in the Beverley / Hull area. Cheers Rob.
  3. Hope you've made a list of stuff that you will have to buy.Only the essentials you understand.... 1.trainer airframe 2.he will need his own flight box 3.subscription to RCM&E    Congratulations hope Mum and Little'un are doing well
  4. I'm just impressed that he managed to salvage anything out of that arrival.Shows good piloting by flying away from the crowd and managing to land in a safe manner.Quality..
  5. magic smoke smells of pound notes...on fire......   Rob
  6. Sorry about the required editting, cant take any credit for the joke I saw it on another site and copy/pasted it onto here .Appologies again. Rob
  7. Hi David, I'll have the charger if I could.Mines looking a bit tired . Many thanks Rob
  8. I've had that happen . Only seems like every few day though.
  9. Hi DW , I'm no electrics expert I am mainly going by trial and error,If it flies and the magic smoke doesnt come out of anything electrical i will be happy. Has anybody else got any suggestions or maybe it would be worth asking the question on the electrics part of the forum   cheers   Rob.
  10. Hi DW , I'm using a cheapy 'bell' type outrunner with a 30 amp esc and a 1300 2s lipo with a jp 8x4 folding prop.I'm only hopeing to use the GL for gentle floating about so I wont be putting a huge strain on the power train. The theory is that if a .049 will get it to height  the that set up will do the same job.   good luck with the build   cheers   Rob.
  11. A rabbit goes into the pub and orders a pint of bitter and a cheese and onion toasted sandwich, after eating his toasty he then order a ham and tomato toasty ,later still he orders a ham and cheese toasty, eats it and then drops down dead. The landlord calls the vet who comes to have a look at the rabbit. The landlord asks the vet what he thinks the cause of death is ,the vet replies mixinhistoasties..     The old ones are the best......coz there the only ones I can remember!!!
  12. Just been in the workshop putting the cowling around the little outrunner motor I'm putting on the front of my Gentle Lady glider.Distracted by the oncoming thunder storm we are having in my part of East Yorkshire I managed to dribble thin cyano into the guts of said motor...Have just found out that they dont work so well with a belly full of glue!! Its not all gloom and dispondancy I've managed to extract the motor without damaging the rest of the nose and luckily I have a spare. I have come to the conclusion that progress isnt all good because it didnt happen years ago when I was a kid with my cox .049 and balsa cement!!
  13. My wife had an unexpected slow speed arrival with the back of a Mondeo about 10 years ago.We had an Austin Montego estate car(wish they still made them ended up having two of them.)The Austin had simlar light front end damage ,cracked indicator lens(£5 at the breakers yard)and a few scuffs but the mondeos rear bumper almost shattered and dropped to the floor ,we ended up with a £600 pound insurance claim against us.Not bad for a 5-10mph shunt.    Rob.
  14. I thought mondeos came with the bumper gaffa taped!?!. The best one I've seen is the example that had been taped up and then the bumper had been resprayed!!
  15. I think you will find that the force that controls the weather also controls the alerter on my ambulance station, it always seems to go off when you put hot water into the tea pot!!!. Rob.
  16. Finally have got my balsa fix.A gentle lady glider purchased online from sussex model centre is now on the bench for a nice simple build and some gentle floating about when complete. Have to mention the great service from SMC ordered online and within 48 hours it was in my sticky little mits.   Rob
  17. I don't belive it............in the famous words of Victor Meldrew. finally manages to spare a few shekles for a nice shiny new proper kit from my local model emporium and they do not now stock kits that you actually build. I knew that ARTF and foam models are now very popular and I may go against the grain by normally building from plans ,but for a model shop not to stock traditional kits is ,by my standards going a bit far.In fairness when I questioned the owner he said that price and demand is now limiting him to only stock ARTF and the like.I like to support my local shop but when it is now seeming that the only place I can get what I require is on the web. Is anybody else experiencing this problem?
  18.   All of these pilot and aviation jokes get me to thinking about my first skydiving instructor. During class he would always take the time to answer any of our stupid first-timer questions. One guy asked, "If our chute doesn't open, and the reserve doesn't open, how long do we have until we hit the ground?" Our jump master looked at him and in perfect deadpan and answered, "The rest of your life."
  19. How about a STOL ,load carrying, slowflying, high wing design that you can land in a tea-cup for an engine of about .40 with scale type lines . Easy to fly and using basic of the shelf gear and easy to build or is that a bit much!!
  20. I had one many moons ago and if i remeber it was quite heavy and flew quite fast(was very hard to follow the build light ,trim for free flight adage)but that may have had someting to do with the size of the radio gear I had at that time. Can't remember the engine I used but I think it was an old os I had from control line days .I had to hand launch and removed the uc for a belly landing.
  21. Nice model ,are you thinking of making it available at some time ? looks great and well worth the time you spent on it .Well done
