  1. Looking at the average age of the people who fly at the 2 clubs I am a member of, the recession has not bitten the older peeps as much as the younger ones. The kids have gone, usually the house is paid for, and wants are much less by SWMBO. Therefore, if you keep it a bit secret, there is about as much to spend as there ever was. Garry
  2. Tighten them up well, you will have no probs Garry
  3. Clifford, continue doing what you are doing on your post. Yes it does take quite a time to rebalance the pack, but it is SAFE. As a dedecated elect flyer of 6 yrs standing, I always balance charge my 4s and 3s packs on eery charge for the reasons stated by Chris. Maybe this is why I am using packs that are 5 yrs old, still in good condition and are used at least once per week most times twice, 52 weeks out of the year. Look after the lipos, and they will look after you. Garry
  4. Try purchacing a unit called a "Battery Doctor". This unit when the correct button is pressed will discharge the high cell and bring the cells to all the same voltage, stick the lipo back on charge, and you will find it is fine. The charger is detecting the high cell as a peak reading and switching off. It is a common fault with a lot of chargers Garry
  5. Looks as if they have got their prices about right Garry
  6. That will be engine size, which will give you a rough idea of the models weight. Garry
  7. Best thing is to check BMFA listing for your area Mark Garry
  8. Nice to see a youngster looking for work, rather than looking for handouts. Puts your faith back in the younger element. Good for you Alix, and I do so hope you are sucessful in finding work Garry
  9. Thanks Alan, that will certainly do Garry
  10. Hi Lads Bit of help needed please. I have just aquired a SU26m ARTF brand new, but without any instructions. Could anyone please tell me the C of G position and recomended throws Thanks Garry
  11. Hi again Myron. Just a short message from all the lads on Modelchat who are hoping like everyone else on here that you will be back to your old self very soon All the best from us all Myron Garry
  12. Thats a new one on me Alan, and has never happened to me, and I do often turn off the TX before the RX I do believe the manual states that it doesnt matter which one is turned off first. but must admit it is a long time since I read it, so dont take that as gospel Garry
  13. I may have been flying Specktrum for 5 yrs kc, but I have been flying R/C for over 40 yrs, so feel I have my fair share of different makes, and Specktum have come out on top of the poll for best aftersales service many times on this forum I feel the way to go if you want genuine gear, go to a genuine LMS, or some outlet you know you can trust. There is always a way. Garry
  14. Rather a broad sweeping statement without I notice any justificatoin for the remark harris. If the article is read it would be plain to see that they were talking about cloned Spekky, not the genuine article, which has been sold in their thousands over a long period, with I may add the best after sales service I have ever come across. I repeat my previous statment that I have flown Specktrum gear for 5 yrs with no problems. I am a big believer in the saying "If its not broken , dont fix it " Garry
  15. Timbo has always stated that once bound a system cannot "unbind" itself unless the operator does something wrong. With his experiance, I would not dispute this, as he knew his stuff, so I would say that either it was not bound correctly in the first place, or the bind button on the TX was pressed incorrectly. I have flown Spekky for 5 yrs and never had a glitch or any binding problems Garry
  16. If you go IC, I will disown you Tony LOL   Garry Edited By Garry Pollard on 06/05/2012 16:01:10
  17. Nothing much to add Myron, it has all been said so well by the other members. Chin up mate, it can only get better. Garry
  18. Easy Question to answer. I fly ever Monday and Friday, the only thing that  stops me  is rain. I get to the airfield at 10 am and leave at 3 pm and average 10 flights per sesson .   Garry Edited By Garry Pollard on 24/04/2012 17:14:18
  19. Welcome back Myron. It will soon be like a bad dream Garry
  20. I have been requested to post the following Get well soon please Myron. All of us at Modelchat send our best wishes, but I am not going through the rigmarole of binding your RX s again, so you will have to get better and do it yourself Polyphilla Garry
  21. All the best from me and all the lads on Modelchat. Get well soon mate Garry
  22. I honestly dont have any variation Be it winter summer autumn or spring. I fly twic a week every week, the only two things that would stop me would be rain or a howling gale. Otherwise I fly..   Garry Edited By Garry Pollard on 08/03/2012 14:34:31
  23. I read with interest Nigle Hawes article " Elementary, Drr. Watson" in the April 2012 issue, and my attentin was drawn to the sub article " Charge Markers ", and thought what an expensive way to do a simple job, especially if you stock of lipos is 16 as mine is, and you want to know which pack is full and which one is for recharge.. Go out and buy a bag of thin rubber bands. put one band on the lipo, and tuck the feed wire and plug under the rubber band. That pack is now designated as full. After use the feed wire and plug is left loose . the pack is now ready for recharge. After recharge tuck the feed wire and plug under the rubber band and hey presto, that is now a full pack. Cost of my system , 50 p. Cost of Nigel s system in my case £15.96 + postage. I have used this system for 4 yrs now, aand it has never let me down, and I am still using my original packet of rubber bands   Garry Edited By Garry Pollard on 07/03/2012 23:41:42
