  1. I must also say that the Toilets and showers were the best of all the shows. Its the first show I have been to that have had showers and it makes a big difference. Having these was the only way I could get my wife to go with me. Big well done on that. Others could learn from this. Once again just such a great  show. Well done the BMFA
  2. This was my first time at the Nats, and I have a few things to say about it. First off the Chuck and Duck in the evenings was the best thing ever. Even my my non modeling wife thought it was great. Secondly The electric Flight line was fantastic in the evenings and quite a few liked the way my Wot 4 flew. I will have a night plane with lights next year for sure as well It was great to see it run so well and without any problems at all. Insurance and a TX inspection was great. I hope it is there again next year. Thirdly the Bring and Buy on sunday was just great. It cost me a foutune but so what.Lots of modeling goodies to keep me going. Fourthly  The hanger flying was just so good in the evenings with so many younsters having a go . Just great stuff. Killed my heli on the tarmac but so what. Keep this up for sure. Lastly The whole show was just fantastic. A big thanks to all the organisers , flyers , trade stands, and anyone who had any thing to do with it.. Also everyone who turned up. It was such a freindly place and I will be going back next year.
  3. I have the main RX mounted flat with the servo connections  facing the engine . The second RX is mounted on the Fuz side with the antenas running along the length of the model. This is in a 110" 45cc powered Bipe. In a different model the main RX is mounted on top of the fuel tank and the second one on the side. Works perfectly. I am sure there is two much hype about where to place the RXs. Just get them 90* to each other and it works for me. Why would you want to fit a lipo in the TX. I get a full days flying from the supplied battery ,thats probably close to 20 flights on a good day and it is still no where near flat.
  4. I am one of those non Tecy sort of people but I have been using Spectrum radio since it was introduced into the UK and now have upgraded to the JR9X  TX . I fly models fitted with Petrol engines of 62cc, Electric models with 3KW 10S set ups , down to shock flyer's. I have never had a single instance with the radio in all that time , BUT I do use power supplies that are up to the job. All the big models are fitted with sub C 5 cell packs,Smaller modes are fitted with 5 cell AA packs. I never use 4 cell packs now and this gives me the safety margin I feel is needed using this radio. Some of my Digital servos needed changing to do this . I always check the voltage before flying with a decent meter that puts a load on the system..On  Electric models using the ESC to provide the power for the radio I only use Switch mode Becs ,and again this has given no problems at all. Good quality switch harnesses are also a must and a lot of the cheap copies are going to fail. I only use heavy duty unites . All these thing cost very little to be sure of and is nothing compared to the cost of a model. Maybe what I do is overkill but As I said I have not had a single radio fault with 2.4. If you have a radio loss due to low battery voltage at the RX it IS YOUR OWN FAULT AND NO ONE ELSES in my book. I can't see it needs to be any more technical than that.
  5. Get The JR set. I started with the specy set and upgraded this year to the 9x . Fantastic TX .
  6. I have been using the 85 a and 110 a ones for a couple of years now. Certainly never had that problem. In fact they have been the most reliable HV esc's that I have bought, although they do not run some motor set ups as well as the jeti esc dose. I find it hard to belive it went up in smoke with just 30 A going through it.
