  1. I have the orgiginal one for sale if your looking for one. Was featured on the front page of the mags, Flown by Mudders and Ian Redshaw
  2. Home on Monday Jez, so I will see what I can do mate
  3. I see I am going to have to get the original Silver one out when you have finished this Jez for a bit of a fly together. Looking great mate. My one is showing its age in the finish now but is still a stunning model. Si
  4. I find with my 1/3rd scale pup that I lead with the rudder on turns. Also I have about a 25% movement on the downward Aileron to 100% on the upward aileron. This seams to work very well. I would have thought the rudder is essential in the model you are building.
  5. I would buy Castle Creations along with the PC interface lead. Not cheap but they will work properly and can be set up on your PC properly as well. They have always worked perfectly for me
  6. My panic with a 72 in it is mounted the same way you have done yours. No nuts. I threaded the ply , removed the bobbins and applied cyno to the threads and then screwed the bobbins back in. Motor has been on there a couple of years with no problems. I agree it is not good engineering practice but it works fine.
  7. If you are using Mylar hinges then it is just as easy to cut them after the covering is finished. As they don't need such a big slot as conventional hinges you may struggle to find the slots again. I usually cut the slots with a hacksaw blade sharpened on the end.Edited By Always broke on 09/01/2010 11:47:41 Edited By Always broke on 09/01/2010 11:48:03
  8. There is no problem doing it two halfs I have done similar things with the dowel and it works well.Local DIY stores are a great place to get long spars. Look in the rack with all the mouldings in.Cheap and fairly light.Great model to have fun with. good luck and look forward to the rest of the build.
  9. If you are looking to save weight then build the wing in one piece. It will be a lot lighter . use full length 1/4" spars. Much easier to build , much more accurate and much lighter.
  10. We store a lot of boats over the winter where I work. On a 40ft boat we usually put one of those greenhouse tube heaters in it  (about 50w) and a small B&Q type dehumidifier and that keeps it damp free all winter. The Heater is on a time switch ,about 6 hrs a day I think. We have been doing this for years and it works really well. Un left boats get in a foul state very quickly.   Simon
  11. Always is top service from Stan. He has never let me down yet. I had an RX delivered from him this morning as well.Top Man and Top prices  Simon
  12. Spot on . Thats how it was and how it should be now. Great thoughts Timbo.God I did have some fun. That brought back some great memories.
  13. What I think is GO AND FLY IT. then make up you mind. If it flys for long enough on the A123  then no contest. I think you will be happy with the A123 set up. Enjoy Simon
  14. Wot 4 MK1 gets my vote . Either 46 powered or 5 cell lipo powered. 1 model for all conditions.
  15. Mk 1 Wot 4, I still think is the best Trainner and sport model ever made in one model. Tought loads to fly on them. I think the MK1 is the best of all. I love them. Still have one and it Electric powered. It can be set up to fly so well. Keep the weight around 4.5 to 5 lbs  and the wing loading is spot on. To light and it floats around to much and to heavy and its to fast. There will always be one in my hanger.
  16. Really weird the 591 bit as plenty of people are not having problems and some are. I had a little count up and I have 11 591 servos in models all on 6 v without a problem. Glad its sorted for you.
  17. I have had the false bind happen before. Its has happend a couple of times and I am sure it was due to the TX being to close. It was not on the same model that it happend and moving the TX away a little and turning on and off again fixed it. This could be the reason. Thats the only strange thing thats happend to me.
  18. I am running all my servos on 6v or higher. using the same radio set up as youself.I have had no problems at all with that . I use Futaba, JR and Hitec . My w4 uses 591 servos on 6v and that's over 3 years old. But it dose seam as if it is a servo problem but not nessaserally caused by voltage. Just change them out and see .
  19. That looks a nice motor. I am looking to replace on older motor so I think I might give on a try.
  20. No If you put them in series it will sill only be 20C but twice the voltage. So 2x11.1  in series  = 22.2v at 2200ma capacity.  20c is 44A  .In series you have done nothing to increase the capacity only the voltage but the amount of power available is twice that of a single pack. volts x amps = watts so  22.2 x 44 = 976  watts . High voltage low current 2x 11.1 in parallel = 11.1v at 4400ma capacity.  20c is 88A . volts x amps = watts so  11.1 x 88 =  976 watts Low voltage  High current If the set up you were using was an 11.1 v set up and you were using a 2200 ma pack and you added an identical pack in parallel to it you would get nearly 2 x the flight time ( remembering it is heaver) If the set up you were using was an 11.1 v set up and you were using a 2200 ma pack and you added an identical pack in series you would  smoke the system unless you changed the motor or prop or both as you are trying to get the prop to spin faster as the voltage has increased . Remember one of the specs of a motor is RPM per volt. Its Late on Xmas Day Good night.
  21. I am no expert on A123, but I am sure you want more than a 6s pack in your model, that is unless you want very short flights. be interesting to here timbo's views on this. Have a great Xmas Jon Regards Simon
  22. Have a look at this link to Giant Cod. These are good packs. I have had good success with them. JSTXH balance connector. Giant Cod A lot Cheaper.  or Hobby City Hobby City Just a couple of suggestions. Look around there are some good cells at a lot lower prices. 6S will allow you to run lower currents. I use 6S 3700 in my Angel S and it  gives ample flight times and it saves a bit of weight. If you use 5S then you may be better with 4200ma packs as the current draw would be more.  I am sure there will be plenty of suggestions Simon
