  1. Haha, that plane does look good. I have to say, i am a big fan of good looking scale pilots in those amazing scale planes, but in a semi-scale plane i am always for a fun pilot - i have my fair share.   Sheldon
  2. Hmm... With all ideas taken, i say   FEATHER   or   THERMAL   Both are fairly dull, but it is my best shotEdited By sheldon holy on 29/10/2009 17:20:35
  3. Great job Pilot Bear! And, err.... Flanker! I know what you mean, nice and steady but does what you tell it to do. Sounds like a nice plane! Get the 90 in there, and you'll be gaving even more fun, but make sure love bunny does the next few flights.   Great thread!
  4. Well, i suppose if someone else crashes it then you will probably get a new one!   Even so, always best to maiden yourself.   Isn't the WOT 4 just great!   Sheldon
  5. That's still no excuse! That is unless the other club members can't film a toy plane well, which is fairly normal.   Sheldon
  6. That's fine. 2nd video is great as well I can never see the logic in getting someone else to test fly models for you. If you have your A (you dont HAVE to have it anyways) then you can fly fine, so why not fly it yourself? If it is because you are nervous, fly on a sim until you are really good and treat the sim like real life. If you can do it on a good sim, you can do it in real life. You CAN do it, you just need to get the first time over and done with. This is how i learned aerobatics with helis (i mainly fly fixed wing), i knew i could do it on the sim, so i flicked it into idle-up and away i went.   I do aerobatics on almost every flight now.   Sheldon
  7. Hey,   Title your videos, a lot of people (including me) will be looking for video of this plane if they want to buy it, so give it a real title. The video is fine. I expect you realised a second into the flight why Wot 4's are THE BEST!   Sheldon
  8. Well it dosent get much better than that! Looks like a great little plane. I do like the fact that they chose the 'classic' wing over the Mk 3 - the classic actually flies better, in my opinion.   Sheldon
  9. Sorry if anyone has been watching, but my camera broke and my mum locked me out of the loft/workshop. But i have just found what must be a secret drawer in her set of drawes which needs several dwawes to be upened and to stick your hand in one of them and pull the secret one out, well hidden, but NOTHING is SHELDON PROOF!   And guess what is in there, the loft keys!   Now I have the  POWER!!!   My dad is getting a new camera, so he'll be giving the old one to me again, no doubt.   I have been having problems with this build: the usual side-tracking and the fus bottom is (everything is built according to the plan) 1/4" too narrow so i have to remove that....   Luckily i didn't start attaching the tail bits or i would have major problems. Well, this build will soon get finished!   Sheldon
  10. It was me who said it was a .46.... it looked like it!   This should fly fine, i have a sukhoi 31 and that tip stalls if your not careful.   This should be nice and liteweight.   Sheldon
  11. Great. I like the fact (same on the kit) that you have masses of space in front of the servo tray, if youve seen the refurb of my Uno-Wot on  here, i've recently fitted a smoke tank in there...... It seems that Ripmax have done a great job, but i still prefer the foam wing as it is easier to repair and is stronger.   But, that's just personal preference, so if it flies anything like the original (which it should!), then it will be brilliant and i'm sure they are selling like hot cakes! So many people have been waiting for the arf Wot 4!   Sheldon
  12. I was always sceptical about the arf Wot 4 and it's built up wing. I am all for models that are very robust and have 'chuck-in-the-car' ability, but i still would build the kit. The build looks really good. I expect you have mentioned, but what's the covering like? I am suprised about the pull-pull rudder. Pull-pull is great for rudders if you line up the servo and the clevises are the same length apart on the servo as they are on the horn.   Sheldon
  13. Great thread! I do however think the 46 will not give quite enough oomph for 3d, eg: unlimited vertical or prop hanging, but it should be light and fly well. That is no doubt why nose weight was added.   Loving the pilots!   Sheldon
  14. Great! What a lovely little plane! I'm sure it will attract attention wherever it goes
  15. I am considering this build.... but i have to tell myself to finish me other countless projects first! I had a good laugh at the previous two posts.   Sheldon
  16. I think, being thin and water-based, the Poly C seeps into the balsa. Remember about all the weight being added. The weight of 3 bottles of Poly C will be going on the plane.   If i ever get around to using Poly C, i'll give it a coat of sanding sealer first. Should help stop it seeping in.
  17. Good to hear that things are working out now. What a lovely little model... i'm tempted... but it would no doubt end in tears.... I have to say, i was slightly aceptical as to wether it would handle well with next to no dihedral.   Sheldon
  18. That's fine The smaller SC engines are actually far better than the smaller OS engines.
  19. This is annoying, i got the 10C ( i love it!) which is missing a few features.  But the servo slow can still be done, just not directly. I agree with Birdy.... everyone says it looks nice! It's NOT!!! Ok, i'm being opinionated... but is just seems over done, flat faced and plain. Also there are yet more limitations with Futaba 2.4 - you can't use it with any of theese small mcx's and vapors, and all the other things.   Sheldon
  20. Hi, no, the actual head of the bolt is stripped, not the thread. I was wondering how to adjust the valves/valve timing, and i was also told that it was probably the valve seats. Either way, it runs fine, it just dosent give the power. People also asked if it was the 90, becaused it looked too big for a 70. You have the engine, so i'll take your word for it! I am thinking of getting some fuel with a higher oil content (15-18%) with 10% nitro. My theory is that the extra oil will help create a better seal, but i have been running it on regular Mo-Glo 5% nitro, with a low oil content. Probably no good for a fs.   I have been given dome high lube straight fuel, so i'll give that a go.   Sheldon
  21. I wouldn't say that their underpowered and heavy.... just with the .70 fs they used the casing from the .90 and made a real bad job of it.... at least on mine.....   Steve, I have seen the sc 70s run on a 14/8 no problem, that is the normal 70fs prop. I think your right about something to do with the valve timing.... but when trying to remove the head, the screw heads stripped!!!!   Sheldon
  22. I dont like the Futaba 2.4 ghz.... but i do like the other Futaba bits! In my opinion.... what an ugly........ It seems too modern, it is just overdone, plain and.... well.... i dont exactly know!   I am Verrrrrry happy with me 10C... but i am very suprised that it dosent have servo slow... i didn't get the Jr 9x2 as it dosent have channel inputs for FPV use, but i really need servo slow and gear doors at this point!   Oooohh... i hope i'm not going off topic....   This 'tranny' () loooks like it has good features (i like the SD card insdeat of this impossible CAMPAC thingy) but i am happy with the 10C. Also the futaba 2.4 rxs are too expensive (i saw the new 4 channel one for £45!!!!!!!)   Shame it dosent use modules.   Sheldon
