BB use MAC (mean aero chord) not just leading edge, there is a taper on the wing and as a result you should use MAC

width of wing at root + width of wing at tip and then divide by 2 that gives your MAC and then 30% of that   measure that back from leading edge at root

its basic but its never let me down on my own designs (basic admittidly)

ie root chord 10 inch, tip chord 6 inch

MAC=  10+6/2 = 8

8 x 0.333 = 2.664  c of g 2.664 inch back from leading edge at root

please convert to decimal in your own time

Mentioned in another thread.  But to keep things 'more on topic, than not'.

The Exclaim was maidened today in a S - SSW at 18.5 mph breeze.  There is a problem with a previous repair to the left aileron.  It had come away at some point and was repaired with an additional 1/8 gap between aileron LE & wing TE.  Causing drag to the left.  I'll repair it tonight, after some kip.

C of G was a bit forward.  But manageable.  Adjustments to be made.

Thanks Lee.  I'm going to try that.  See if it matches what I'm already thinking after todays maiden

BB   And YES twas a little sprightly !!
