Phil May
I'm in the early stages of building Peter Miller's Wattsdog. It is a 41"vintage style electric model, which should weigh approx' 21 oz. I have a couple of tower pro sg 90 servos. They are 9g , 1.6 kg micros. Would these be ok to use for the elevator and rudder or would they not be up to the job . Any ideas on this please. Thanks . Bruce Richards
Personally I think they would be fine.

Peter Miller
Wattssdog is very slow and docile. They would be more than enough for the model.

Mowerman
Another query on servos. I am building 'American Nightmare' Converting to electric (2 x 200watt) do you think 9g servos will cope?
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Mowerman, a lot depends on the model (size of control surface etc) & what you intend to do with it (gentle flying, 3D stick banging etc)......I have 9g servos in my Seagull Extra EP (42" span about 2lb weight & huge control surfaces....fitted with a 400 watt motor) & they have been fine although I did get a bit paranoid & replace the rudder & elevator servos with these. 14g...2.2kg/cm torque, metal gears & less than 8 USD. Certainly it is always best to over than under rate your servos......
