Tony Smith 7
Hi, Does anyone know what size wire is used on typical 9g or similar sized servos? Either in gauge or any other measure. All I know is that the stuff I bought that was supposed to be 26AWG is miles bigger, and the stuff supposed to be 32AWG is miles smaller. Secondly, anyone know where I can buy some? Most suppliers seem unable or unwilling to say what size wire they're offering. I'm fed up with buying blind and finding that its wrong once I get it. Chris Card
I think "standard", if such a thing actually exists is 28AWG. Hobbyking list servo wire in various thicknesses but to be honest a good local model shop should be able to tell you the gauge of wire they're selling. Not all are clued up though but my local (West London Models) are ace for things like this.
Steve W-O
I have bought a selection of servo wire over time, but now I tend to use ready made extensions and cut one end off. I find I usually end up using the cut off end for something else, like connecting to mpx 6 pin plugs/sockets for the wings instead of having so many single connections to make.Edited By Steve W-O on 20/11/2010 11:06:
Tony Smith 7
I think the matching size is 28AWG as you say, but all that I can find is 22AWG, 26AWG or 32AWG.

Tony Smith 7
Its a bit too fat to wire directly into the servos.

Then I guess it will be 32 Not going to make any difference on a small servo, the servo will smoke long before the wire.
