Silver Fishing Pole

Recommended Posts

Decided to dig out an older model today on 35 mhz still, as I'm mostly 2.4 these day, and had an enjoyable couple of hours this aftermoon despite the threat of rain at any moment.

What I noticed that I had missed using 2.4, was the fact that end of my extended aerial was a nice colured ribbon blowing in the wind which instanly guided me to the best directions for all areas of my flight, including of course the main two parts take off and landing.

Anyone else missing this simple "tool" ?

We have just this week scrapped the black pennant /peg idea for 2.4Ghz fliers.
TBH, one of the main advantages of 2.4G is exactly that....it matters not one jot who switches on, when or where.
I haven't used an aerial pennant for 5 years, and don't miss it ( in fact it was more of a nuisance than a help ) I figure that if i cant tell which way the wind is blowing on my face, then its so light it doesnt really matter
