Delta Whiskey
....I've just been given a free Optic 6 which has a Spectra 2.4 Rf Module fitted in the back, it says it's AFHSS can I get a Specktrum module to make it compatable with DSM2 for an MCPX I've also just acquired? Frank Skilbeck
Spektrum do moduels for Futaba and JR radios and one of those may fit, but for a MCPX why bother a module will cost you best part of £100 and you can buy the simple Parkzone 4 channel DSM tx for less than £20 from some outlets, do a search for a Parkzone DSM2 Tx and several will turn up. Delta Whiskey
Thanks Frank, my brother has a MsR which has the cheapie DSM2 game controller type Tx I wonder if that would work on the Mcpx ?
Frank Skilbeck
Yes, you just have to bind the MCPX to that controller, switch the MCPX on and the LED will start flashing, switch the controller on in bind mode (switch on while pushing the left stick in I think) and they should bind together. The controller will then be able to control either the Msr or MCPX (or both together but thats not recommended)

A.T.
The Spektrum DM8 module for Futaba 8u 9c works well wth Optic 6 & Eclipse 7 In fact the first advertisements for use in a Futaba actually pictured that module being used in an Optic 6 - note, the module fits upside down to that as used in a Futaba - pins at bottom of socket in lieu of the top. For the early issue Optic 6 which had a larger module socket, wrap a piece of fibreglass tape around the middle of the module so as to leave a "tag". Tape enures the module is snug, does not move and is easier to pull out.
