Bill_B
Looking good so far Gary! What size motor, prop, ESC and battery are you intending to fit, and what sort of hatch arrangement are you going to use for battery access?
Gary Vinten 1
Still looking at brushless motors then esc but got to get about 700w to give me a lively model!, battary access wil be from the removable wing I have worked out that 2. 3s3000 lipos in series will fit as I said just need to find the correct motor
Bill_B
700W will give roughly 140/lb assuming that the AUW is about 5lbs (Peter quotes 4lb 12oz in his article). Maybe a 4s set up would be adequate with the right choice of motor/prop and would be slightly lighter than 6s thus giving better performance, just a thought........ Peter Miller
Mine flew well but could have done with a little more power. I wanted to cheat on wing area but they wouldn't let me. Have fun.

Peter Miller
Actually, Replikit cut the ribs out for me.
Gary Vinten 1
Hi Peter Replikit cut the ribs for me as well but they all came out to big by 5mm on the balsa ribs and 10mm on the ply short ribs

Peter Miller
I wonder what happened with the computer files at Replikit. Mine were OK.
Gary Vinten 1
Hi Peter Spoke to Tim from replikit and it looks like i can cut down and use the balsa ribs (not ideal but a solution ) but they will have to emake the ply ribs from the templates on the balsa ribs as they are the same
