ericrw
I'm having difficulty in finding a cross piece for attaching to my electric motor. The main problem is that the motor came with the model. Though the model is a Tian Sheng Giant Cessna; the motor's only identification is 3864 KV700 but no name. I've tried to source one on the internet within the UK but to no avail and I am wondering if anyone can advise!!
Pete B
On the base of the motor there are the mounting holes for the X piece. Measure their centre to centre distance apart across the shaft of the motor - likely to be 25mm in a square form or a combination of two different measurements, probably 25mm x 19mm. Let us know the measurements and we'll find the appropriate mount. Giantshark have mounting kits, one of which will probably fit. ericrw
Hi Pete, The measurement is 25mm, in a square form. The shaft is 5mm dia but it has a collett around it which makes it 12mm in diameter. Thanks for your help !!
malcolm woodcock 1
You can get some marine ply, cut two crosses out, one with the grain at 90 degrees to the other and epoxy them together, then drill to fit motor. Hope this helps, it's worked for me a couple of times.
Alan Randall
I find this useful when looking for motor mounts. They match the ones sold by Giant Shark which tend to be cheaper.
Pete B
This C42 kit will be the correct one, Eric. I see they are OOS of the mount alone but this one comes with the M3 bolts needed to fit it to the motor. Pete
