Alternative to Eflite EFLM1130 for Fokker DVII?

I won an EFlite Fokker DVII slow flyer AFR at my club's Christmas raffle; it was supplied without a motor, ESC, etc. The recommendd motor is an EFLITE EFLM1130 2250KV 55W motor, but there silly money for such a small motor, so I need an alternative. I was going to use a HobbyKing 2310, but the motor has to be mounted with a CF tube on the rear bearing housing, and the HK motor doesn't have facilities for mounting in this way. Anyone know of another alternative that can be CF tube mounted?

Go on www.4-max.co.uk and look at their equivalents section. The motor code on there can then be used on www.giantshark.co.ukfor a dirt cheap motor if you go for a XYH motor, which are exactly the same as the purple power ones, but about a third of the price

Thanks Simon; indeed, they list it as equivalent, but it's double the weight of the Eflite motor, and it's not clear what the rear mounting arrangement is as there's no drawings for it.

Martin, there are some options from Giantshark that are around the same weight & KV. For example this one with this ESC should be worth a punt for £13.09 total.

You could save a bit with a 6A ESC but it might be too close to max & a search on the site will produce alternative motors. Look at brushless outrunners then those under 25g.
