I was stumped for a while when setting mine up, until I realised that the purple lead should go to channel 3 (throttle) in my receiver -- fair enough, it's labelled "throttle" in the diagram, but it's shown going into channel 6, and the configuration of the colour-coded wiring loom also suggests it goes into channel 6: It doesn't, unless your throttle channel happens to be channel 6, which it isn't on the illustrated Futaba 617FS receiver.
