Murray Hackney
Anyone know of a motor which will produce 1500 watts from 6s lipos? This would mean pulling 50-60amps, but I have some large 6s and don't want to upgrade to a higher cell count
Olly P
Murray - why not link 2 6s batts to get a 12s? that'll half your current draw. I am at work til late tonight, but will have a hunt if i get time. 1500W seems a lot for a 12lb aircraft though - I'd be looking at 90-100 W/lb, so about 1200W. does the 12lb include battery and an allowance for motor/esc or is it bare bones? Simon B
I think the figure is about right. It allows for headroom. Better that than having marginal power.
Danny Fenton
My 85" Chipmunk is using a Turnigy 4260 and is producing around 1300 watts, not that I use it much, on 5S. I would look at the 5065 range from Turnigy (HobbyKing), a cracking motor and capable of the sort of numbers you want. Available in several Kv' rating to get the power you need from your cell count and selected prop. I am using one in my Hurricane which should come out at around 11lbs. Murray Hackney
The model is 12 lbs with a 6s 5000. I have 5s also which could pair as 10s, and I will check out Turnigy. Thanks to all for help........Murray
