Tx Batteries.

Gents,

A question.

At present I charge my Tx using the supplied charger that came with the set. I don't have the knowledge or experience to replace the battery pack for a Li Po unit and am worried that  I will lose the  on-board memory if I disconnect the internal battery. What I want to know is;  can I use an external charger (and still use the existing socket) to  charge at a higher rate?

Hi Doug,

Yes you can disconnect the TX battery and charge it externally, I routinely charge mine at 1C with my fast charger. (1C means for a 1000 mah pack, charge at 1 amp, 700 at 0.7 amp etc). However, do not charge at a higher rate through the TX socket as you will damage something (diodes etc).

All the best.

There is an inbuilt memory which works independantly of the main battery, and this is either EPROM or powered by a single "button" style cell. Disconnecting the battery will NOT lose your model memory. The main switch on your tr effectively completely disconnects it anyway !

'bout time you went LiPo Mr Ireland
