Roy Mundy
Hi Martin a chocolate block will be fine, I always solder mine but as its temporary I can't see why it should be a problem.
fly boy3
Hi Martin, as Roy says it will be fine for a temp measure. When you change to a brushles motor you have to have a brushless ESC. You knew that though Martin. Cheers
WolstonFlyer
Martin, you cannot use a brushed motor on a brushless ESC which is how I read the original post to mean.

PatMc
In that case - I came by a blown plastic fuselage that was a spare for a Protech Ultimate. It's very similar to the Easy Pigeon fus & was also designed around a 600 can motor & 7 nicads. I also happened to have a pair of 6ft wings in the loft. So I used this motor, this ESC with a Gens Ace 1550mAH 3s lipo & 9x5 folding blades on an ali spinner. The result is Igor, not pretty but it glides better than expected & climbs to 200mtrs (660ft) in 30 secs on a fresh charge.
