Roger Jepps
Hi, I have recently aquired a mint little used Futaba T-8UPS (FF8) outfit. I think around 10 years old but apparently still a very capable R/C. My flying is rather laid back, Vintage and Thermal and so even this R/C would excel any application I would need. However a couple of things I understand its possible to convert to 2.4 ghz. Any advice would be appreciated. Also the TX is set for Mode 2. As I fly Mode 1 I would like to reset. I have downloaded the manual and it states Modes can be altered by simply turning TX on holding down the two Mode buttons where a display shows STICK MODE X with a number representing the current Mode which can apparently be changed. I have tried this and no such menu appears, am I missing something. Any users advise appeciated Thank you.

PatMc
I have a FF8 that's designated FP-8UAP/8UAF but I believe all 8U are the same as far as general programing is concerned. The mode change can be done by pressing & holding either the both basic menu or both advance menu or both mode buttons whilst switching on - I've tried it on mine & it works OK. I use this FrSky telemetery module in mine which means you can convert for £20 & get basic telemetry Rxs from £20 or use with non-telemetry Rxs from £17. Basic telemetery gives audio warnings on low Rx voltage & low received RF signal strength. Been using it for about 2 years & it's rock solid. It's also available here. Johnnie
You may need to open up the tx and change over the ratchet and the springs on the sticks
