Mike E
Can anyone help sourcing a pair of 5 inch spoke wheels for a ww1 fighter - looking for actual spokes not plastic inserts Many thanksMike
Ernie
Hi Mike, I made a pair from a kit by Arizona Model Aircrafters at http://www.arizonamodels.com/ They are very good, but expensive, and a bit heavy. They even do German or British spoke patterns. I've often thought a pair could be made from the round wooden things that they sell in craft shops for embroidery..That would make the rim..Its the hub that's the problem.. There are little spools that sewing machines use for doing something complicated tio thread. They might workI can send a pic of the AMA ones if you likeGive us a look at the project.......Ernie

Allan Jordan
Hi Mike, I might just be able to help in your quest for spoked wheels. I have an article from an old copy of Aeromodeller which describes the making of them, If you wish I could post a copy to you. Just send me a PM with your address. Is this any help ?
