Bart83
Hello Fellow modelers , I would like to show my empire flying boat design. I based it on the Short Solent by Ivan Pettigrew. It is an all balsa build model , very very light. Went flying her yesterday evening . . . here is the report : When i was driving home from work i noticed it was perfect weather for rc flying. It was already running late so when i got home i quikly loaded the plane in the car , charged the lipo and went to the lake. Arriving at the lake ( approx 3km from my home ) sunset has begun already. There was a little wind blowing ( 2bft) strait towards the shore side , just perfect. Had a real good time flying the model in these conditions , making scale takeoffs , slow flyby's , landings etc. The low light reflecting on the metal finish and the very visible nav and land lights . . .it was magical. Building light really is the key to get the most fun in rc flying one can have i believe. Thanks to Ivan and all the rcg members who have made a ivan thread on rcg , you opened my eyes to a whole new world of rc. If annyone like to know more on this model dont hesitate to contact me. Here are some pictures and a video from yesterdays evening and some earlier ones : Cheers, Bart http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1719075 My design and build thread http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1809276 Gary build thread Photo's : Edited By Bart83 on 12/12/2013 09:26:

Colin Leighfield
That is modelling heaven. It must make you feel very satisfied as you land after a successful flight and water-taxi it back to the shore. Beautiful.

Dave Bran
Very Good, thanks for posting. Are you aware there is a small freeware program called SetCameraClock which as good as automates the process of getting the correct time and date visible? Also, what was the source of the background noise??
Bart83
Thanks all , The noise in the background is a porto from some field watcher and his Jeep , he came too see it flying Cheers, Bart
