christopher small
I need to paint my flight box. What is the best paint to use,i was going to use Polyurethane, but I have just been told it is not completely fuel proof.I have an old 2 part mix fuel proofer (Aerocote) in the workshop, could i use that on top of the polyurethane paint.Or should I go for something else. David Ashby - Moderator
Hammerite paint is good Chris or good old gloss enamel seems ok - they'll both be fine for the odd drip of fuel
christopher small
Thank you David I think I will go for the gloss enamel, probably try spraying it on,never done it before so I will see how I get on.
Lord Lucan
At our flying field you can usually tell what colour everyone's skirting boards and window frames are, 'cos their flight boxes are painted with the leftover paint.A simple bit of gloss emulsion seems to do the trick and I've yet to have one fall apart due to being fuel soaked.
