Dave Hopkin
On aircraft with no spinner, just the (full size hub boss) how do people go about eliminating/concealing the (model) prop shank and nut? I could simply hack off the excess shank but even then it leave a totally non scale looking nut on the air side of the prop hub. In my particular case its electric but the question is general..... cymaz
No need for a extra prop nut with These Or have I missed the point ?
Dave Hopkin
I was think more along the lines of props that in real life dont have a spinner, thing WW1 Biplanes... just a flat steel boss with bolts going into the prop hub.... kevin b
You could fabricate a nut with a plate on the end and mount the prop with some very small nuts & bolts, but it would still sound like a cordless drill flying by !
Stevo
Using a sledge hammer to crack a walnut... make a dummy prop and boss and whip it off before take off "still sound like a cordless drill flying by" - very good !
Dave Hopkin
Very pretty and looks the part..... its an option of course, but I'd really love to have the cordless drill flying on a more scale like prop nut.... And too my ears a cordless drill sounds better than an asthmatic lambretta any day Edited By Dave Hopkin on 08/08/2014 11:00:

Personaly I like electric, but it still doesn't sound as good, on a biplane in particular. There again I wouldn't go decrying ic on this forum !!! (light blue touch paper and stand WELL back) P.S. I owned that asthmatic scooter.
