John Dennier
Can anybody advise the spec of a battery LIPO of LIFE which fits into the Taranis X9D battery compartment. Preferably something available from Hobbyking. This is to replace the NiMH offering ffrom FRSky which itself only just fits into the 30mm wide by 27mm deep cavity. Optimum battery length should be aprox 100mm to leave room for wiring. Cheers JD
Dave Bran
Google pulls up loads of help info on this. As example................ **LINK** and read post of 27/4/
Chris Bott - Moderator
Whatever you get John you need a 2S lipo in there. As you probably know, the battery connector is designed to take a 2S Lipo balance plug directly. Note then though: That you can't use the built in charger, so will be unplugging the LiPo every time you want to charge it. It's better, I think, to opt for the 2000mAh LSD NiMh. That lasts for ages between charges, fits, and you just need a 12V supply to charge it. Gary Manuel
I agree with Chris - especially the LSD (low Self Discharge) bit. Sanyo Eneloop are the ones to go for if possible. Charge with the built in charger when you get back from flying and the batteries will still be fully charged months later (winter is coming ). flight1
no need for lipo just the 2000mAh battery last ages uses the in built 12v charger. simple, why complicate somthing that works well. I use this and been very happy
Chris Bott - Moderator
I tend to keep one of these in the flight box just in case. But only because I already had it, and it fits in Taranis. I've not had to use it yet, but if I do, I'll have to remember that my battery low alarms are wrong, etc. Edited By Chris Bott - Moderator on 08/10/2014 10:51:
