Chris Bott - Moderator
Went flying Sat and Sun. More club members turned out this weekend than have for a long time.Carried on with my experiment with a live webcam for our 3 funflys this year. Only caught the end of the morning session today after many had left.We also had an impromptu Club barbecue at the field. To checkout the webcam see http://greenacresmac.co.uk/May%20Barbeque.htmIt did prove that I need a better camera... David Ashby - Moderator
Looks like a good club meet Chris. I flew yesterday for a few hours and today took my camera and some planes to the Bickley electric meeting. It's held at the Bickley club near Dartford and a very enjoyable day it was too. I didn't fly - too busy snapping away.....A great variety of models, plenty of EDF with 2/3 launchers busy all day, aerobats and lots of warbirds big and small. May have just got enough shots for a piccy report in the mag' so stay tuned. I have to say that it's quite an eye opener when you see just what fantastic models some flyers are building out there ......
Clive Moore
Went to the Shuttleworth model flying day on Saturday great day and spent far to much on bargins in the traders tents. Today (Sunday) I went down to my club field stayed 8 hours flew all day in lovely sunshine with some good mates, what more could an aeromodeller ask for. Jonathan Lewzey
I had 17 flights over both days - a record for me . My B certificate practice is improving as is my prop hanging with my Ikarus Shock Flyer. Perfect weather all day, both days. The only downsides was the long grass at the patch and the sudden disapearance of all my fuel! Still, its Thames Valley next weekend - anyone else going? flytilbroke
To make up for the wnd yesterday, today (monday) was almost flat calm. I took my Grandson over to the local park and rough ground with the Electric Glider. He was delighted at finding out what thermaling meant. Tim Mackey
The 3DRC event arranged by Nathan F J at the Delyn club site was very well attended, and all had a great time and enjoyed lovely weather after the early morning cloud burned off. Although I don't do 3D ( perhaps that should read can't ) I took a couple of small models along just for fun, and enjoyed the huge space that is the "Internationally famous" kettle field Alex Whittaker was busy on the camera at what is his after all his local club site...and some pictures may well appear somewhere from him - also, many good pictures are posted on NFJs own forum "3D R/C" ( site appears down at the moment but a google will get you there later if you want a look ).Alex sent me these 2 of my Sabre and kindly agreed to allow them to be published here on the forum. Superb shots as usual from the maestro - so good in fact you can see the wounds inflicted on this 3 year old bird by those damn Migs over what is now approaching 200 successful flights.
