Steve T
I wanted to create an album of my workshop/man cave. Inserted 5 photos from desktop on my laptop. Waited most of my life for them to upload as I live in the wilds of Suffolk where Internet is something from Star Trek, only pretend! So there they are, er? The first one is upside down, the next four are either on left or right side. I deleted the album 'cos I couldn't find any link to correct and want to start again. Is there help out there please? Tony Read 2
Have a gander here I live on the Essex/Suffolk border and my internet speed is slooooooooooooow. So i tend to upload a couple of photos at a time. Are the photos the correct orientation on your PC before you upload them?
Pete B
Help is never far away on here, Steve.... As well as Tony's link, have a look at this thread, too. Reiterating the above about ensuring the correct orientation, re-sizing the pics to about 1200x800 helps, and try loading no more than three at a time, otherwise the site will tend to 'time out'. I have only a 2Mb connection, also living out in the sticks and share your pain.... Pete
Steve T
Thanks, 2mb, in our village we honestly get 500 to 750 lbs ! It's quicker to walk round to your mate and tell him what you want than to send a snail mail.
Pete B
Blimey, 750kb? - that's not much better than dial-up.... Best make your pics 800x600 then - they'll stand a better chance of getting here and will look much the same on the page anyway Pete
Tony Read 2
Yep, I'm on good old ADSL, with no chance of ADSL 2. Never got anywhere close to 2mb. What village in gods county do you live Steve?
Simon Chaddock
Steve How big are you pictures? My simple digital camera is 9.3 Mega pixels which creates something like a 1.5Mb file. I reduce the size of my files to about 150Kb (1/1000 the size!) using the 'resize' function in Paint before I down load them. I only keep full size pictures where I might want to print them out big. Some forums actually limit the size of picture files that can be posted.
Stevo
I searched for a bulk image resizer, that way I load all my pics in from the digital camera, around 5Mb a piece. I then bulk resize them in one hit to around 250k each, and they upload in no time (although I enjoy a 6Mb upload and 98Mb download speed !) Steve T
Not sure about 'gods county' , I'm a Yorkie ! Also on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, some of them are still paying Danegeld here. Tried again today, just one pic, it arrived in my album upside down, oh dear.
Steve T
Success, at a price! For some reason I can make it work from my IPad which has all the same pics that I need....but I do have to do the most unbelievably small crop, hardly worth the effort and download 1 at a time, while I grow older in between ! Steve T
Still not sure why taking such an unbelievably small amount off the pic makes it work, but it does.
