TheFlyingCrust
Hi John, I'm not acquainted with the model. All I can find on t'internet is this. You'll have to do a Google Translate I'm afraid. Hope its helpful. Ian
denis parkinson
A rough translation:- With this aircraft, it's a bit back to the building that we were there for over 20 years ... But what a challenge! Rather see the features of this development to hang ailerons and flaps. Wingspan: 2165 mm Length: 1615 mm Operating weight 5 kg for flight an engine 15 cm3. The model allows towing. It is an old model dating from 1981, in traditional design BALSA CTP thick and massive hardware. We will provide electrical conversion without changing the original structure (no recess for retaining the strength). The electric motor and batteries lipos should not change the weight of more than 600 to 700 g. Wing loading should be around 63 g / dm 2. alan p
Hi John Flamingo 5 was the first r/c model I built. looked good for the models of the era. It was test flown by a experienced flyer in the club, went nicely then we tried a very lazy loop and the wings clapped hands at the bottom. Balsa spar had sheared at the ply wing joiner, always used spruce since. So pay attention to the spars and it should be ok. Used the surviving wing half for lecture on principles of flight/airframes at aircadets for years afterwards. Alan
