Keith Dance 2
Have just lost the prop on my R2Hobbies gliderman which I bought as a complete package. Their web site says 12x13 which seems strange. Can anyone suggest a replacement please.
Pete B
Robotbirds do an Aeronaut prop in that size, Keith. Pete ps Having said that, I've just found a link to the spec of the Gliderman and I'm a bit surprised at that prop size if the motor is as described. I run a similar spec motor, 3548 850Kv on 3S with a 14x8 folder and get IIRC about 650W which is plenty for my 3Kg 3.5m Epsilon. That's about 60A max. On a 4S Lipo, as mentioned in the Gliderman spec, a 13x6.5 prop is recommended. I'd have thought a 12x13 would pull far too many amps, even for an 80A ESC? Keith Dance 2
Thanks Pete, on the origional prop the aircraft went vertical so was run at half throttle for a very steep climb. I cannot remember the amps pulled but must have been well below the ESC of 80 amps or I would have used a bigger one. I will obtain a 13x6.5 and give it a try. The model is very heavy but flies very well and is strongly built. I appreciate your reply.
nigel sheffield
The supplied from with the gliderman was too big, about 17 by 13 or something stupid, would pos be OK on 3 cell but 4 would draw crazy current. A 13 by7 or so should be OK on 4 cells. Still have mine unflown due to general lazy ness on my part but hoping to get it going soon.
