Tony Cundy 2
I have just come to Electric R/C after Free Flight in the 50s. Can anyone tell me why the balance lead on a FlightPower Evo25-15002S has one black and 3 red leads. The black seems to be battery -ve (0v), the first red is inter-cell (3.7v), and the second red is battery +ve (7.4v). The third red seems redundant and to need no connection to the balance charger. Help please!
Tim Mackey
Its so they dont have to provide a 2 s socket on the chargers and balancers...they just utilise the 3s socket for both a 2s and 3s pack, with 4th wire redundant. As for colours well there as many variations as there are grains of sand in the world - ( slight exaggeration )
Andy Harris
Could anyone let me know where to buy the balance adaptors for the Kong Power batteries. They are described as YH2008 and are not quite the same as the three pictures in the article. The battery should have come with an adaptor but sadly didn't.Thanks ... Tim Mackey
I guess your best bet maybe Al's or BRC. Al's was one of the first to stock Kong power.Post a picture of the plug /socketry you require Andy. I thought the Kong stuff came with T-Power / polyquest style plugs? Michael Arwas
ive had bit of a problem with charging. My graupner ultramat 14 required that i buy a seperate lead so that i could connect it to my deans fitted packs. Fine i thought until it seemed literally impssible to find a bannana to deans lead. finally found one today.
John Melville
Like many others I am so frustrated with the differing types of balancing plugs fitted to batteries, the incompatability of plugs causes unecessary practicle headaches in addition to the technical ones when buying new batteries. Does anyone know if there is someone out there that sells a kit/selection of the most popular adaptors
David Ashby - Moderator
It's a headache John, even four types is too many I agree. Most of the elctric flight specialists sell converter leads so I'd suggest you make a few calls and you should soon have some on the way.
