Andy Meade
Harry - sorry, I missed your reply. BV215 - excellent! I love the look of all of these experimental fighters. Looking forward to some Luftwaffe formation flying This might help - a free plan on outerzone. Flyer
Posted by Andy Meade on 30/10/2015 09:28:24: Good on ya That's a pretty good size - will be impressive! Are you including the strake flaps on the back of the fuselage? I saw a depron build yesterday on RCGroups that used them. At the scale I'm thinking, I should be able to get most of the full size features on it. If it does'nt work, I can go back to the drawing board. I am looking to extend my knowledge by a 'hands on approach'. Certainly better time spent than watching 'quality television' most evenings..... Andy Meade
Definitely! I usually get a good 2 hours an evening building time whilst the good lady watches that tosh
Harry Twist
Hi Andy - thanks for the Outerzone link- already got the plan. I am using that plus a depron build freeplan from an old RCME mag - will tweak the design for a slope soarer. Ditto on the quality tv comments ! Flyer
Well...........plan ordered! I do want to make an own designed version, but thought that I can use this one to try the concept first, before spending too much time on a bigger version. We'll see how this progresses....... Andy Meade
Be sure to do a build thread Adrian! It's a lovely looker, and sure to draw a crowd on the slope

Flyer
Well, plan arrived today; just spent an hour drooling over it (must remember to put plastic over said plan!). I am considering using the canard properly, anyone successfully used a canard? And if so, what sort of movement do I need to consider? I'll sort a build blog up in due course (SWMBO has A4 list for me to complete first), and my mancave needs to be prepared. Also, trip to local model emporium needed to obtain necessary balsa. Is it a good idea to provide for ballast? I will be using mini servos rather than the plan version, any other pointers gratefully received. Cheers Adrian
Andy Meade
Yup I have 3 or 4 canards, all fly great On an aircraft like this with a fairly standard wing, just use it like an elevator - just remember the movement direction is opposite compared to a normal elevator
