Tony Smith 7
Hi, I was wondering of there's some sort of accepted formula for three blade props, in my case to find the three blade equivalent of 11x5.5 in two blade. It's for the Fun Cub, where I have a more powerful motor available but would like to keep the prop size down because I've operating in long grass and stubble etc. With the smaller motor I have 10" prop, and wouldn't really want to go bigger. Thanks, Tony S
John Privett
I'm sure there was a similar thread on here quite recently, but the old "rule of thumb" was to keep the same pitch and subtract an inch to the diameter going from 2 to 3 blades, or add an inch going the other way. So a rough equivalent to your 11x5.5 2-blader would be a 3-blade 10x5.5.
